On their worst days, St Francisville, False River, and New Roads are infinitely superior to Watson.

That doesn't mean the Audubon bridge isn't an example of wasteful spending.

Don't be talkin shite about the ville.

You're right though the bridge cost way too much for the amount of traffic it gets. If you live around there though it's pretty nice.

Actually i'm from BR, The Lakes at White oak.
I preside in Watson now and would be against any $500 million dollar bridge built to the city.

I think a bare bones 4 lane bridge connecting Watson to Central around Hooper would be beneficial to both communities. It definitely wouldn't cost $500 million though. I think more smaller connections like that into Livingston combined with a more efficient Airline Highway would solve a lot of traffic headaches in Baton Rouge.

Also, I think the word is reside, not preside. I think you'd have to have a position of authority to preside over Watson.....like a judge or mayor.

I believe this is being planned for now.

Or Baton Rouge could just build a damn loop already and that would solve most traffic issues.

While I am very much in favor of a loop, we have to do something in the meantime. Lets play make believe now and pretend that a defined route for this loop can be agreed on. Do you realize how long and how much money (actually those two are related) it will take to build?

Traffic from Mobile going across the bay during 5pm rush hour is awful in the I-10 tunnel and bankhead. I've driven down to Dauphin Island and taken the ferry across the bay to get to Gulf Shores on a Friday evening because it's so much faster than trying to go through the tunnels.

I understand a loop would be a long and costly process. I'm just ready to see some kind of progress to make it happen. If it were to happen it's got to start somewhere.

I don't expect it to ever happen.
