You're aware that the Moon is direct line of sight? I mean, we can see the Moon from the surface of this planet - ergo, if you were on the surface of the Moon, you could see the Earth (photograph it, even).

The core technology required for television was invented in the 1840s. Television became practical by the 1920s. The United States began orbiting relay satellites in the late 1950s. An entire network of ground, sea and satellite relays was constructed to support the U.S. space program and was in place well prior to the Moon landings.

What are your additional technical questions on this relatively straightforward, well documented area of technological advancement?

We can see many stars from the surface of this planet as well. But if in the 1960s I took off from this planet with what someone claimed had less processing power from technological standpoint that a cell phone, I wouldn't be able to broadcast the transmission back because it's out of the range of its use.

Granted, the landing on the moon probably had more resources invested in it for the bag of rocks than the development of phones at that time, but I still don't fully understand how, in the 1990s sattelite television was not popular. I'm not saying sattelites weren't in use but Velcro existed before the 1990s.

So I'm to believe that the technology invented as a by product of the moon that appeared well before the 1990s in a wide ranging scale involved keeping the broadcasting technology under wraps until Dish and Directv while allowing Velcro and duct tape to hit the shelves?
