mixture of some humor with seriousness. start out with "it's funny how XXX and YYY got started, because YYY was initially using XXX to get to me." some cheesy shite like that for some fake laughs that set the mood. then just go with it

Watch the wedding singer, do the opposite or the same. Profit. You're welcome.

If you don't know what to say, you shouldn't be best man.

Roast him a bit. Tell a funny story or two, no stupid inside jokes. Say nice stuff about his future wife. Close with something sentimental.

95 people for a rehearsal dinner? They must not be having a reception, where people give BM speeches.

Keep it short and no jokes about the bride, and keep it short.

Try to seduce his future MIL with your speech. You'll never have to see her much again, and it will certainly be a practical joke that will make his interactions with her a little awkward for a good while.

Or, just keep referencing shot you read on tigerdroppings.

Tell them that you never thought he was gonna break out of his experimentation phase, but then he met the bride.

She let him pay her with an IOU, but he paid her back with a wedding ring

Because she's a dirty pirate hooker

"You know, it seems like only yesterday when you and I were taking a shite on a paper plate and lighting it on fire on our neighbors doorstep little bro. Yea, you were only 6 and I forced you to do it, but thats neither here nor there. Remember that one legged hooker in Reno? Man, she had a twinkle in here eye. She's reminds of Jane's mother, Susan, youre new mother in law. Witty, charming, just curvy enough, cocktease...but elegant. You look beautiful tonight Susan. (Now, raise your glass) Jane, I remember the first time I saw you. I caught my brother masterbating in the bathroom to that nude pic you sent him. I could tell by the candles that he had lit that he knew you were the one. And now here we are, six weeks later, and love is in the air. Here's to a lifetime of happiness, and I want to be the first to congratulate you two on the baby. Cheers!"

It's ok to tell a few stories etc, but do your best to not refer to yourself too much.

It's not a commencement speech and shouldn't be difficult to say a few funny things about your brother in good taste, something nice about the bride and her family and lead a toast. 5 minutes is good. People don't want to hear a bazillion speeches. After the first few, it's time to stop.

I just gave a best man speech I'm really proud of.

I couldn't finish my dinner because people kept coming up to the table telling me it was great and one of the best they've ever heard.

I was in the same boat as you. I didn't know what the frick to do.

I went no notes, although I wrote things out and created the structure before the speech.

Here's the structure I used:

- Introduces yourself

- Thank the guests for being in attendance and let them know their presence makes this special.

-Thank your parents for hosting the event and thank the brides parents for putting on the wedding and reception.

-Try to lead thanking her parents into talking about her.

-Say something very nice about her, then mildly embarrass her. My brothers wife made a loud belch while I was waiting to use the bathroom the first time she visited. She's a pretty and delicate girl, so it was so strange. I used the word Sasquatch. People laughed.

-Use the same formula for your brother. Say something very nice. Show affection and love. Then embarrass him -- but do so harshly if you can.

-Say something about how these two are great for each other.

-Finish wish a short toast
