If it was an active site then they might have assumed he was stealing tools.

It directly contradicts the rednecks' statement to the police.

would be pretty quick to spot if that were the case. How many tools could a guy carry in his Shorts pockets while running... dumb excuse

I've been stopped before...tell them and no one shoots me.

Why are you laughing? Arbery doesn't try to run away in the video. Instead of turning right, he turns left towards the man holding the shotgun. And in the footage where the struggle can be seen, Arbery and the shooter are fighting for control of the shotgun.

Not only that, but the DA - before recusing himself - references a second video that hasn't leaked to the public clearly showing Arbery trying to take the shotgun.

quote:

Mr. Barnhill said this video, which has not been made public, shows Mr. Arbery attacking Travis McMichael after he and his father pulled up to him in their truck.

The video shows Mr. Arbery trying to grab the shotgun from Travis McMichael’s hands, Mr. Barnhill wrote. And that, he argued, amounts to self-defense under Georgia law. Travis McMichael, Mr. Barnhill concluded, “was allowed to use deadly force to protect himself.”

LINK

But I absolutely do believe this should go before a grand jury. Anytime someone is killed in an incident like this, you shouldn't just let the perp walk away and chalk it up to self-defense. It should go before a grand jury where his/her peers decide if there is sufficient evidence for a trial.

Arbery is not going to just be out jogging, see a couple guys with guns, and then instantly try to fight them so what happened prior to?

He tried to run around them. Ain’t no exonerating these Baws. They chased him with guns and shot him. You stick a gun on someone on a public street, you don’t get to claim self defense.

Those red necks are going to be watching out for the corn hole in short order.

I loved when Gomer laid the Citizens Arrest on Barney.

But this was murder.

There is absolutely no evidence of that. He made a hard left toward the man with the shotgun. The only question that needs to be answered is if the trigger was pulled before or after Arbery started fighting for control of the weapon.

As a citizen, you can’t initiate an armed conflict with an unarmed person. You can make a citizens arrest when you literally witness a felony , but you don’t get to initiate an armed conflict to accomplish the arrest or an unarmed person. If this isn’t prosecuted you will have complete anarchy with every Karen in a HOA running around her hood trying to arrest people with a .38.

We see him obviously try to run around the truck. At no point do we see him run to the drivers side & the pull the driver out of his vehicle. The driver gets out, after trying to make a fricking blockade in the middle of the road with his armed dad standing in the back, with his weapon drawn. Whatever happened after that is entirely the driver & fathers fault & should be prosecuted as such

I don't think that will make much difference.

There is nothing obvious. He makes a hard left turn and goes completely out of frame. Next thing you know you hear yelling and then a gun shot. The next time we see both men, they are struggling for control of the shotgun.

The DA who recused himself claims there is another video that shows Arbery attack first. If he's lying, he should be punished. But if he's telling the truth I think we should wait for further evidence before we make a final judgment.

Either way...this is an incident that could have been easily avoided and I think it's obvious to anyone with common sense that Arbery didn't deserve to die over something like this.

He was defending himself.

Run hide fight.

He already attempted to run and was thwarted. No where to hide. Only chance he he probably thought he had was to fight.
