But NOLA was never in the mix.

And down goes school on Friday
With the access to virtual learning, it’s a safe decision to close schools. Why take the chance of having buses on icy bridges and roads.

These winter threads are much more confusing than hurricane threads.
- it might snow
- there is no chance of snow
- there might be a good bit of freezing rain and ice
- looks like the ice event is off. All dry air (I'm assuming dry air means no precipitation of any kind)
- models are showing snow
I can't keep up.

Yeah... I think winter storms are just tough to crack ESP down this far south.

I highly doubt they cancel school on Friday in the BR area

Winter weather is often harder than hurricanes.
An easy example the typical snowfall to liquid ratio. The normal assumption is 10:1 or 10 inches of snow to 1 inch liquid.
Do you get upset when there's a miss of 0.5" of rain? Probably not. You'd care if you miss the snowfall forecast by 5" though.
Then in the south, where you need about 40 things to go right to go right.

Why? Its Baton Rouge folks can barely drive on a dry road, let alone an icy one.

GFS or bust at this point. Nothing else is really showing it. Maybe if you can get some lingering showers farther to the North. Right now, after the rain moves through and the temps drop, the only area getting precip is the Gulf. Fingers crossed for some flurries, though.
That, or the GFS is on to a bit of something.

Wasn't a crack on the weather guys. Just been a whirlwind to follow.
I personally don't really care. All I'm hoping for is a free vacation day Friday.
