Smashed my finger this morning - Possible NSFW

Never had a smashed finger quite this bad. Dropped a car battery on it. Think its bad enough that I should I go see a dr?

Heat up a needle, red hot and stick it right through the fingernail. You relieve all that pressure and you’ll be fine.

Back when I worked on drilling rigs I usually had 2 like that. Some of those smashing memories still make me cringe.

Watch it over the next few hours. If it continues to swell and stay painful you may need to get an xray.
Sometimes a fracture happens that may need to be pinned. Other times the fracture is not displaced and will heal.
You will likely need a finger splint.
