Smart Start Drving Academy in Gonzales Scam?

So we paid them $250 in June for 30 hours classroom and 8 hours driving. They couldn't sched the driving part until September.
Flood happens, says they don't have instructors now. Will now issue you a certificate, but Zero refund for their inability to complete their commitment of the driving portion.
They said they have no idea when they will resume. They have about a dozen cars sitting in front of their place.
I asked what they're doing with the money they aren't paying the instructors. The lady says "sir, I don't understand what you're saying." So I repeated it four times for her.
Anyone else experience this?

So your kid got a certificate of completion without having to do the 8 hours of driving with the useless instructor...and you're complaining about this?

Be a good parent and spend time teaching your kid to drive. Take the certificate to the DMV. Get their license.

And of course you did not just pay for the certificate. You paid for the driving instruction. You should report him to the AG's office Or at least threaten to try and get a refund.

I wish. Only a cert for the classroom part.
The state now requires 8 hours driving part, just to get your permit.
I have taught her to drive, but our government doesn't believe me. They want a piece of paper from a crook like Ron Thomas to say he did.

Things must have changed since I got my license in LA. I went to the DMV on Florida Blvd in D.S, took the test, went down the street, made a couple of turns, ended back at the DMV. Then went inside, took my picture and got a license.
Forgot that I had to take a 6 hr class for $25 before going to the DMV.

The $100 to me is no big deal.
But the idea that someone would charge full price for something, and then just drop it and offer nothing in return is worth mentioning publicly.
I'd also guess that the driving portion is where most of his costs are.
Drop it, profit. Ron Thomas seems like an arse to me so far.

Either way, it's a shitty situation. Just keep hounding him for the driving lessons or $100 refund. Hopefully he'll have drivers to teach the kids soon.
