Anyone trying to defend him based on a super-slow-motion, selectively-edited clip that covers maybe 2-3 seconds of real time either hasn’t seen the normal video or is, quite frankly, a fricking moron.
It can’t be defended. The shooter deserves a shot in the head after some prison treatment and the other officer at a minimum deserves to never be in a position of authority ever again.

Should it have escalated to this point? No
Do I buy that she was Ms Innocent, made a "joke" and was cowering? no
Can anyone tell definitively from the video whether there is water in the pot? Doesn't appear you can to me.
It appears that she ducked down and wanted to ambush him as he was rounding the corner.
Still, he shouldn't have had his gun on at this point. A taser would have been more than sufficient. He could have waited her out and the water would no longer be boiling temperature as well.
He is an agent of the state. He should be hanged on national television.
The only thing more egregious than a psychotic murderer is one sanctioned by the state, carrying out "law and order" under the direction of the lawmakers and bureaucrats. Everybody wants a new law or regulation until they're going to prison for it.
Her one and only mistake was inviting the state into her home as, "problem solvers." The state never solves a problem, it only creates them.
Hang him or put him in gen pop at the state penitentiary. He has to go.
And for the progs, this is what you wanted, right? Defunded police? When you treat police officers as no more important than a garbage man, pay them like one, and are as selective with candidates, this cretin is what you get. Congrats, you played your dumbass selves.

Some of you can't discuss facts without being emotional children. The guy is liable--period. Whether or not he perceived a threat and what led to that is the discussion here.

Oh no she threw the pot at his feet. Pretty weak actually. He was looking for a reason.
Also, if he was truly afraid of the water then he wouldn't have pushed forward. He would have kept his distance and commanded her to leave the kitchen. He pushed forward knowing he could easily headshot her. Which is what he said he was going to do. She initially let go and cowered down holding up her mitts, but as he drew closer she threw the pot at his feet. She was a scared woman. He shouldn't have treated her like that. None of this had to go down like this. They are the ones who put her in that position, so they should have had more patience with her.
He should have never drawn his weapon over her rebuking. That wasn't a threat. She wasn't even facing him when she said it. However, even if he wanted to draw his weapon then he should have kept the distance away from her and instructed her to leave the sink. Instead he pressed forward.
Here's the deal. As long as she is at the sink what true threat does she possess? There is a long counter between to two as well. So why not wait it out? Also, the longer you wait the more the water eventually cools. So what if they had to wait all night? As long as she isn't moving towards them they could have observed her from a distance.
I have seen standoffs with men holding loaded guns last much longer with police than this. I have seen mentally unstable men holding guns threatening to actually kill the police last longer than this. There should have been no rush to head towards her. They had enough distance and positioning. Looked pretty difficult for her to even handle that pot as well.
Cop should have drawn his taser if anything, but he got pissed and told her he was going to shoot her f-ing head off. An already disturbed, paranoid, and scared woman. That they put IN THAT POSITION. He treats her like that. Rather than be the bigger more sane person and assure her he is only there to help her he rather go ballistic. All because he doesn't even understand what rebuke means. And he's an absolute prick who should have never been a cop to begin with. Absolutely did not warrant drawing his gun on her. It wasn't a threat. She wasn't motioning towards them.
Again, if the pot was that scary then you would keep your distance with your weapon on her. The thing is once it's dumped she's got nothing left. Just show some patience. She was a pretty slow person. They should have left at the door like the other officer wanted to do, but this cop pushed it. Yet he was the one without any patience.
It's ridiculous.

I mean you’re lecturing about “facts” after you said this:

It appears that she ducked down and wanted to ambush him as he was rounding the corner.
..which is a retarded take if you’ve seen the longer, normal speed body cam video.

Innocent until proven guilty.
Let a jury hear all the evidence and then make a decision.
frick social media and everyone’s super duper valid and instant opinion.

There is literally no way a jury buys all that.

So her trying to stand up with the pot of water and having it in a position to throw it forward didn't stick out?
Do you realize she was only dealing with the pot of water because the cop told her to?

Because only emotional children can think it’s cut and dry, amirite?
There have been plenty of cases where the split-second decision was questionable, where the victim/perp escalated things unnecessarily, where the victim/perp clearly put their own life in danger by making stupid decisions, etc.
This ain’t one of them.

Yea, there’s probably some hidden evidence the libz don’t want us ti see. I bet this thug had marijuana in her system ! The whole thing was probably staged, of course it comes out right before the election!

Why does she even need to move it? Just cut the burner, if anything.

Maybe it’s because I’m watching on my phone, but how does the slow motion change anything?

quote:before he took the gun out he backed up and said he was backing up because he didn’t want to have boiling water thrown on him. That was reasonable.
I still don't think this situation rose to the level of pulling out guns.
Everything he did after that was unreasonable. There was no reason for him to take his gun out at all.

Unless she was trying to be like Jordan throwing a Fadeaway Jumper with that pot, she wasn't throwing anything. she was ducking and dropping the pot.

Is this your first rodeo? Just started paying attention to “the news” now that you’re about be a freshman in college? Here’s a tip Junior, rarely are these situations exactly how they seem when the video first drops.

I’m sure you feel the same way whenever some college girl is killed by an illegal, huh. Let me guess what the difference is.
But sure, we’ll wait for the feature length film that tells the whole story. We’ll also be eagerly awaiting why this cop was fired from 3 other departments leading up to thi.
