It's decriminalized already. Legalizing weed isn't going to solve anything other than provide more revenue which will just be pissed away.

The city is shitty with handling money, giving them more won't solve that problem.

From my other thread

Do the opposite of everything that’s going on.

Get a da who’s tough on crime and not facing 11 federal charges

Get a mayor who is current on his taxes and can speak proper English

Reduce property taxes

Build another jail

Offer tax incentives to businesses and industry instead of relying upon tourism

Seems like a simple start

ETA. Not concern ourselves with trivial bulls hit like statues and street names And open up books at Harrahs and throughout the city.

You essentially have to go into all these government agencies from the school board to the transportation departments, to the police and wreck shop.

I have no problem doing this. frick city hall.

Swb needs to be privatized.

Tulane and Loyola also need to pay property taxes, but that needs to be taken care of in BR I believe.

Enforce hefty litter fines

Legalize gambling as the people have voted for twice.

I'm not sure what's wrong with the education system, but that should be a priority as well.

It's funny how people complain and complain about the government and taxes and whatever else, but sure do rely on government to bail them out.

I think my BREC taxes are well spent.

Mainly for NOLA:

Enforcement of littering laws.
Enforcement of vagrancy laws.
Clear lots with blighted properties as quickly as the law allows.
Tax breaks to entice businesses.
If you know you have a vehicle break-in problem in Lakeview, have your agencies focus on that area, and when the perps are caught make sure they’re sentenced appropriately. Same thing if you have a violent crime problem in the East or Hollygrove.

I’ll be the one.

I propose we get rid of people who do 50 in the passing lane on the interstate.

There, I said it

Immediately term limit every state and local elected official and ban them from any future political appointments or lobbying. Prohibit every member of their families, and everyone ever employed by any of them from being elected or appointed to any government or quasi-government position.

Toss out the Louisiana constitution and use the Texas constitution instead.

When someone screams about the loss of institutional knowledge, explain exactly what part of the existing institution need to be retained. Government by clueless rookies would be far better than government by generational corruption.

We control the mouth of the Mississippi. We should be the biggest port in North America.

Correct....however, what local, state and national LEADERS, both public AND private, CAN do is ADDRESS/IDENTIFY and FACE the real issues ! Something NO group is willing to do !!!

Everyone says this but that was the argument for the Lottery and using the revenue for schools and roads and those are arguably our two worst areas.
