There's dental mouthpieces but you need a sleep study for insurance to cover it. And let a dentist make it, not the over the counter type.

Not trying to advertise here, just seen the over the counter type not work at all and also have seen it cause tmj disorders.

I would recommend a full arch, otherwise you can see super eruption of the teeth that would throw off your bite.

Also would recommend something adjustable like the Somnomed or the T.A. P. If I needed one I wouldn't like the TAP, while less bulky the adjustable part is in the middle and looks like something that would Aggrevate my tongue.

Cpap is the standard therapy.can try a a mouthpiece as well.

Surgery for sleep apnea has mixed outcomes as the types of surgery usually have to be tailored to the pt, and this is not always well done.

If you have a lower AHI , surgery may be able to "cure" you, but most often people still need a CPAP despite the surgery (allows lower pressures to be used).

Standard surgical therapies included tonsillectomy/UPPP/sphincteroplasty, base of tongue reduction. Can get more involved with tongue advancement surgeries etc.

If you have a low BMI and moderate to severe ahi, you may be a could candidate for the new tongue stimulation (inspire). Think like a pacemaker for your tongue while you sleep.

Lots of stuff out there though if you are adamant about not having the CPAP machine.

$1000-1500

They think I have sleep apnea, sleep study in a month. I am not overweight, just runs in my family.
