Grand Canyon is obvious
Bryce Canyon and Zion
Driving over the Golden Gate Bridge in a convertible
Na'pali Coat in Kauai
One I haven't seen listed here yet is Teotihuacan outside of Mexico City
The pyramids are large and very impressive, but it's the entirety of the complex that you don't realize until you are there
You descend into the pathway from pyramid to pyramid and realize the location they built these things and the angles relative to sun and moon - something you can't get from just looking at pictures

I'll add the Hoover Dam.

It seems boring, but when you get there it is amazing.

As a less obvious runner up, the first time I walked out of a subway tunnel in the middle of Manhattan. I thought I knew what to expect, but I couldn't help but stare upwards and feel a bit overwhelmed.
I know what you mean. I've only spent time in Manhattan once for about 3 days. I was overwhelmed by the number of pedestrians on the sidewalks at all times of day. I've been to the downtown areas of many other huge cities, but never seen anything like the sidewalks of Manhattan.

Augusta National Golf course
Was coming to say this. It was like Disney World for middle aged men. When I went on the Wednesday practice round in 2018, the grounds were pristine despite a 5am deluge that kept the gates closed an extra hour. Every person there had a smile on their face from the "patrons" to the concession workers to the merch shop staff to the bathroom attendants. The place ran like a well oiled machine. I never stood in a line the entire day.

Alaska. In a boat with bald eagles on both sides of the passage, with whales diving in formation in front of you, and a glacier in the background. Believe we were in Juneau.

Talladega on a packed April race weekend

The state of Alaska. You cannot truly understand the size until you fly through Canada and get into Alaskan airspace.
Also, gorgeous.

I didn’t read any responses and my first thought was Alaska.
Just unreal.
Just unreal.

The Milky Way. The sky not the candy bar.
What’s particularly crazy is everywhere had that view about 100 years ago, before light pollution.

A lot of great answers in here. I'll go a slightly different route then:
A Top Fueler leaving the line for the first time. Bilj will know what I'm talking about. It's unfathomable until you're there in person.

Mt. McKinley/Denali felt that way for me. It’s hard to see scale in photos.
Agreed. We took the bus in from the north side and it was a large dark mass above the other mountains. Didn’t look real.
Got a clear shot from the south after leaving the next day and it was truly unbelievable.

Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Specifically from March through May.

Driving through Katrina devastated neighborhoods in New Orleans in the year or two following the storm. It felt straight out of an apocalyptic movie.

Glacier National Park - when a chunk of ice from a glacier breaks off and falls in water the sound when it hits the water is intense
Water in the Exuma Islands; Looks fake;
Juneau, AK - bald eagles are as thick as black birds
