really don't want to move back in with the parents.
Move back in for 18 months, put away 1000 a month and use that for a down payment on small house. 5 years from now, buy a bigger house. 5 years later, baller status.
I wish someone told me that at 20something

What the frick, Millennial scum? You’re telling me you can’t afford a $1200 apartment plus car note, insurance, phone bill, utilities, gas, food, etc on 2k a month? Must be all you damn entitled millennials.
As a boomer, I know I benefited from having the best economies in modern history but dammit we had it so much harder than you entitled millennials. I graduated college with a history degree and immediately found a great job with benefits. You millennials have no idea how difficult that is.
yeah I'm assuming sarcasm

When I was 20, I bought a 1 bed 1 bath house on acre for $750 a month. Don't waste money on renting.

Was looking around and 1 bedroom apts/condos around BR are going for roughly $1000-1200 in rent per month.
Depends on where those places are located.
I live off corporate in the Towne Center area.
I have a roomate and our rent is $1,330/mo ($665.00 ea). Does not include water/utilities. Very nice complex with two very nice pool areas and a nice gym. Neighbors are awesome (some older retired folks, but mainly young professionals. Have seen absolutely zero trash living there in the two years I've been there.)
If you and a buddy are looking, I'd advise a roommate. Splitting everything saves a ton of money.

I used to go to HG before it was remodeled and became the essence of Uptown in Greenville. It was a really cool spot that had the local vibe that I associate with Greenville.
I’ve been to Blind Butcher once and it had a cool vibe. I’m recently single so I have to re-learn the spots around town. No complaints because I’m sure he Dallas talent is as good as ever

No single, but the wife and I live in a 1-br apartment and are paying a bit over $2,000/mo.

In college I paid $353 to share a 3 br/3 bath in auburn. everything included too. Atlanta is like $1k minimum for a 1bd. Usually closer to 2k for anything decent.

When my last roommate moved away I moved in with my parents in Lafayette. It costs me 350 a month and I'm there maybe 3 nights a week. I couch surf or stay with my gf while saving up for a house. I'm also back in school so it's nice not having to worry about much.
Living with parents gets a bad rap but damn, after 10 years of being out of the house I'm enjoying being back. I'm piling up some serious cash as well.

This was 10 years ago, but prices went from what my land appraised at 40k an acre to about 60+ acre now.
