Single OT'ers: how much do you pay in rent?

Just graduated, looking for my own place. Was looking around and 1 bedroom apts/condos around BR are going for roughly $1000-1200 in rent per month.
Never lived alone, any tips? Simply trying to not get ripped off. TIA

In Gainesville I paid 720 a month for a single bedroom which was pretty high in Gainesville. Very affordable cost of living there.
Clearwater my apartment with a single bedroom cost 960 a month.

Rent in BR is high in areas that you aren't likely to die. It's odd that the market supports such prices

The apartment market here in Baton Rouge is insane

Find a roommate. Rent in college towns are insane. Not sure how you are...but find a good roommate. Save up and buy a house asap.

To answer the question: rent in Oxford where I live for a two bed house or apartment is going to run about $1,000/month for a decent place. When I graduated from State the same would have been $800.

Prices seem about right. You’re likely looking at the right places. The New Orleans places like the Saulet and Georgian are in the 1500-1600 range, I believe.
My main tip would be to make sure you have a guaranteed spot in the parking garage.

I have two roommates in a house that’s off of Lower Greenville in Dallas. We pay $1K a person.
I’d say anything that’s around a G and in a somewhat nice/desirable area is a win.

yeah buying a home is my ultimate goal. I have a job and some savings but not enough to buy a home at the moment. Just really don't want to move back in with the parents.

If you have a gun and dog, you should look into renting a cheaper place in a sketchy part of town. Your neighbors are likely to leave you alone because they'll think you're a cop.

$1500/month. Usually about $1530 after water fee and some other fees. Not Including utilities.

600/month, includes water, sewer, trash. Not a big apartment but it's not a studio, it's not in the ghetto, and it has central air.

I'm single and I bought a house. It doesn't cost that much more than renting.
