Reading all the student loan nightmare shite makes me very grateful that the job my dad had at the time paid tuition to any in state public school for his children. It got phased out a year after I graduated.
It fricking sucks shite covered cock
I had a 25% scholarship at TCU and even then I had to borrow about $140k. I wouldn't have even gone there if not for playing football
It was worth it but it still sucks massively. I have 14 different lenders and they all want their money. The total combined minimum for those 14 loans was like $1400 a month which was just too much to cover when I first graduated and was only making $30k. So I had to strategically default on a couple of them. I had no choice really.
Now that I am making $85k all my lenders are making these crazy offers to settle my accounts. I guess they would rather have a chunk of my balance now rather than have me drag it out paying the minimum over 10 years. One lender I had whom I owed $60k, and I was paying on, offered a settlement, if I paid them $20k by the end of the year they would close my account. I took them up on it

I have a spreadsheet somewhere of my ideal build
Red Sea Reefer 170 tank, AI Hydra 26 lighting, etc.
I think the total cost was $3500 or so
It's not the initial cost that worries me, its the ongoing maintenance

150-200K isn't what it used to be.

LV sucks and is not profitable. it's all NITs trying to get comps
I agree for the most part but some of the rooms I frequented were decent
My theory is that if you can win 6 out of 10 eight to ten person tournaments, you might be good

Deals like this tells me a ton of people are defaulting on their student loans.

That is brutal
I'm going to have less than that for a professional degree and it's depressing

Collectors are the worst part
I am not a deadbeat. I do what I can. Yet a lot of collectors will call you names and shite.
I told one collector last week. I pay more in student loans a month than you make in a month. That set him off really good

I don't know any guy making that much that's single.
My buddy does. 31 years old. Clears $220k/year as a consultant. Works about 60 hours per month. He travels around the globe in first class....in a different country at least once a month. No kids. Has a couple "lady friends" but nothing serious. Lives in a 1500 sq foot apartment over-looking the Pacific Ocean and plays about 20 rounds of golf per month.

Is this life as awesome as I'm imagining?
It definitely has lots going for it. I'll add there are plenty of single professional women making that much or more who have no interest in "settling down" but don't mind getting busy on a Saturday night.

I'm only about $2k into my 90 gallon Reef tank.
I got 50lbs of free live rock though, which helped
