Yep, and he had these health issues for half a century and they didn't kill him. Ultimately, when you research his views on COVID and the effort to combat the spread of the virus, he died of politically-induced, irrational ignorance.

Man I had no idea he was in such poor shape, health wise. He sounds great in the interview, but physically you can tell. RIP Loaf

Great lyrics, though I don't think he actually wrote them.

Tremendous song.

I've just played the entire rest of that song in my head.

He packed his bags and turned right away.

His collaborations with Jim Steinman were his best stuff. Those 2 artists weren’t the same without each other

As a young teen I remember riding in the car with my Dad in NE Ohio. He was a WWII vet who loved big band and similar music. He didn’t really appreciate the theatrical artistry of rock and roll. A commercial came on the radio from a Cleveland station .. in a breathless voice the announcer said “Bat Out of Hell, the new masterpiece from Meat Loaf’”. He just turned his head and looked at me and repeated the line in deadpan then slowly shook his head. A classic dad move.

But I recognize it’s pretty much the same reaction I give my kids when they play the latest rap when we are in the car together.
