Remember, I would do anything for love was released in '93, and there has been a lot of speculation as to what he meant. There was a VH1 clip (looking for it, I'll link when found) that had him explaining, albeit in a round about way, that it was about booty. It wasn't as popular back then, and if you remember, there were really women's booty's worth eating for nearly another six years. Truly a visionary.

Meatloaf was like Kiss for me. He was wildly popular with people a few years older than me and I never understood why.

He was considered a God by the Broadway crowd before he became a “rockstar,” iirc

Besides the Music.... RIP Meatloaf... Thanks for the memories.

The Movie Roadie (1980) has to be my all time favorite. He played Travis W Redfish from Texas with Art Carnie, Kiki Hunter, Debbie Harris, and Alice Cooper. It was hilarious. Even if the Critics dogged it.... I may watch it tonight. "Everything works if you let it." was its theme.

The soul he put into his songs was fantastic.

Sad. Still dont know what he wouldnt do for love

He literally says it in the chorus.

Once, he did Vh1 Storytellers and he diagrammed the chorus on stage so it would be obvious.

It’s something different in each chorus. When you read the lyrics, it’s as obvious as a diamond bullet to the forehead.

For example:

But I'll never forget the way you feel right now,
Oh no, no way.

And I would do anything for love,
But I won't do that
No I won't do that

Dude had asthma and other comorbidities.

Which is even more of a reason why he should have gotten vaccinated.
The antis are dying left and right. Mostly right though.

I've learned more about him in this thread than I've known about him in my entire life, other than his on-stage stroke. I didn't watch any movies of his that I had known of except fight club, and his type of music isn't what I'd ever listen to unless forced, but you guys have done him right in your remembrance.
