Snook caught off the beach at 30A? Sorry, but I’m going to need a pic to believe that.

Drag in a 6 foot bull shark and you won’t have to worry about swimmers for a while

Yeah, that's pretty trashy.

I'm not going to be like Gaston, telling you, you have to get in a vehicle and go way down the highway to do that, but just walk down toward Grayton a little ways, where there aren't people paying $100 a day to rent beach chairs with their kids frolicking around, and you will be fine.

Are you trying to surf fish in front of everyone relaxing on the beach at watercolor? If so then yes you deserve it.

Walk down a half mile towards Grayton where there won’t be any people.

I've owned a place in Orange Beach for over 20 years. Been called a whole lot of things by drunk white women while surf fishing. Had a Osprey run into my line this summer. You'd thought I had just shot someone with the way people were acting.

So you’re probably taking up 20 yards of beach right in front of all the other chair rentals with 4 lines out where everyone else has to worry about watching out for your lines or stepping on a hook.

Just move down 100-200 yards to the state park beach where its not crowded. If you want to fish right in front of Watercolor, do it early morning or in the evening when there’s not many swimmers

Woke up this early this morning at my beach house in watercolor to get a good spot up front and set up my 4 surf fishing lines.

So you woke up at a house at some part of Watercolor and went to the main spot in front of the Inn/Beach Club where the chair set up is and set up lines there?

What an unnecessarily weird way to frame this story

ETA - I've fly fished from the surf for years on 30A and never had a bad encounter, but then I wade instead of passively fishing and I don't get in anyone's way

I'm with you. It's late September, not July 4th weekend. There's plenty of space for everyone.

eta: Should have kept reading. Move away from the beach chairs. Kind of shitty to hog the entire beachfront in front of the chairs.

Yeah, I have no doubt it's all but completely deserted 100-200 yards or so down the beach WHERE THERE AREN'T RENTED BEACH CHAIRS SET UP.
