Birth control is cheaper than 3 row SUV's

Because it’s not just vehicles that sticker shock me. Everything is much more expensive across the board.
Absolutely

That include Alpharetta?
Yeah, Milton formerly Alpharetta. We avoid ATL at all costs.
I wish there was a bypass to get around it, and 285 doesn't count.

You didn’t have to buy a new vehicle

I have a GC and I parked next to a Tahoe yesterday and I was shocked about how big the damn thing is

I wish I could find a $300k starter home in Dallas. Closer to $450k here

$359k.
3br/2ba - 728 square feet.
Secondly, that’s $493 sq/ft. That’s utterly ridiculous. It better be brand new and have every fricking amenity available and high end luxuries.

No, but like anything else, you have to pay to play

Ok. Order one that isn't that Z71/High Country
The problem is a brand new z71 cost around $30k 20 years ago and now it costs nearly 3x that. That is ridiculous. The prices of new cars, in general, are ridiculous. Tahoes/Suburbans were originally marketed as a middle class affordable vehicle that could double as a car toting kids around while also having off-road capabilities. If you wanted a luxury SUV, you could buy an Escalade or Rover.
I'm on my third Tahoe.
My first was a 2004 Z71 bought in 2006 w/ ~20k miles for a sticker price of $26,000
My next was a 2008 LTZ bought in 2012 w/ ~55k miles for a sticker price of ~$32,000
My current is a 2017 z71 bought in 2021 w/ ~19k miles for a sticker price of ~$50,000
I essentially bought the same model SUV 16 years apart from my first that was 2 years older with similar mileage for double the cost. I'd like to buy new but not a chance I'm paying $80k+ for a Tahoe. I just paid to extend the factory bumper to bumper warranty for 3 additional years and 75k more miles.

Prices are ridiculous, but this is simply not true.
I had an 04 yukon SLT that was pretty well optioned, but not top of the line. The sticker was $46k.

Those old Suburbans were more crew vehicles than suburban rigs, it seems. Had bench seats, etc.

My buddy bought a brand new Tahoe, fully stocked, in 2001 for around $30k. That's what my baseline was when coming up with that number.

yeah, those things were basically vans with different door configuration

It isn't new. It's just convenient to call centers, shopping, etc.
Looks like the kitchen is barely big enough for one person, so that's where they really cut back on space. I'd imagine the garage is never actually used for a car.
Link the property in question

I pulled up our invoice from the Honda Odyssey we bought in 2016.
$29,703/$32,296 all-in - and that was brand spanking new, folks.
Same model at the same dealer today, $41,905 before taxes and other bullshite.
Needless to say, we just opted to keep the van forever. Will be curious to see if prices regress or just level off.
I see more and more people listing "used" vehicles for absurd new car prices these days on Facebook, though. Lots of people bought high and are regretting it.

It's getting better, but production of new cars was so bad during COVID that used cars were impossible to find for awhile, so because of that they were being sold for ridiculous prices. Know more than a few people who actually made money on vehicles they purchased 3-4 years prior, which should never happen for a depreciating asset like a car.

Have some friends at the local dealerships. Dealer "A" had a used 2021 Tahoe AT4 w 26k miles. Said they were asking $82k and sold it for that. I said no way. New ones weren't that much.
Dealer "B" about a week later got in a new 2022 Tahoe AT4 and was selling it for $78k.
Decided to hold on to what I have. Its ridiculous.
