My wife tried to get me to give to someone on Siegen one day and I said if he's capable of standing on the corner for hours he can get a job at one of the 1000 fast food places within a block of here. I mean, that's what I would do if I was that desperate.

Why don't the beggars on Siegen take $10 and get a Planet Fitness membership, take a shower, then get a job at Burger King from 7am-4pm and a job at Whataburger from 5pm-12am?

This is why they don't work.

How much do beggars make?
A 2008 report stated that some Oregon beggars outside a Wal Mart make $100k per year / $300 per day. A beggar in Oklahoma City, OK makes $60k per year, or $30 per hour average.

Tax free too.

When I was in Texas there were a couple of guys asking for money outside of a Taco Bueno. Ordered some extra food with my meal, and gave them a few burritos on the way out.
They looked absolutely livid as they quickly stuck the burritos in a backpack.
Lesson learned that most of these people aren't actually hungry, but just want money for foolishness.

I like to employ them in my recreational activities.
So far, I'm up to two beggars and a small dog!

Saw one yesterday sitting there with a brand new iPhone talking on the phone with an earpiece running up to his ear holding a need food anything will help sign.
If all else fails he could try to bar b que his new iPhone I guess and use the paper bill as the fire source.

There is a guy in a wheelchair at Airline in front of Cortana. He has been there for months. I came to work early and saw him dragging that wheelchair to his spot across from the Exxon station. I NEVER give to panhandlers or people with buckets trying to raise money for a cause. The only people who can fundraise on the median are firefighters.

Has any of the media outlets followed these people to see where they go and what they do when they aren't "working"?

I pull up and honk my horn at the ones sleeping under the trees behind the racetrac on Siegen when I stop for lunch at subway.
It's noon. Even for gutter punks that is too late to be sleeping.
You're doing great work.

I saw a guy last week in New Orleans at the end of Canal St. by the cemeteries walking and counting his cash. He had a wad of cash that filled his hand and it did not look like all ones! He's a regular panhandler at the Metaire Rd. I-10 exit/Canal St area.

went to make copies at the FedEx store on College by the railroad tracks. They literally have a fort built under the bridge in the canal.

The dude on College Drive in the wheelchair was talking (no one was there), then would break out in a laughing fit. Pretty sure there are some loose screws in his head, but he seemed to be loaded.

Canal Street/City Park Ave. is a hotspot for bums. I always see the guy with the nub. If you want to see some next level stuff check out the guy on Carrolton by Costco. That dude has a zipline for his dog and a tarp tied off to poles for shade like a tent. He's got himself situated pretty good.

Never noticed. I can't see shite today.

They still have the black kids from the bottoms of Baton Rouge trying to sell candy at the Bluebonnet/Perkins intersection on weekends?
One of those kids will get killed eventually?
That's one of the biggest scams in BR. Buy shite from Costco, slap a sign together about Camp and make money. It's the parents making them do it.

Would it be illegal to squirt them with a toy water cannon when they come up to your car and tell them they just received a free shower?

Yeah I am mad.
You won't be truly mad until some frick nut is giving them a dollar and makes you miss that light by the Target. The one that only changes every 11 minutes. I had a serious urge to run the guy down after it happened to me.
