It's called a joke. Just because jobs are fixed doesn't mean younger people deserve it any more than older people unless they can show it through performance.

I bet it you asked every single person who is over 65 and still working they would tell you they are working for health insurance. It's a crying shame people in this country have to work until 67 or so because private insurance plans are so much.

For my dad's last 10 years (60-69) at his last insurance job he annually underwrote more business than the other 4 underwriters combined. Think it all depends on the individual.

My wife's office manager is in her late seventies and just won't retire. She is in bad health and should just enjoy life while she can. But Instead she constantly messes things up and nods off at her desk. 2 weeks in a row she completely forgot to do payroll. Had thirty employees not get their check direct deposited when they expected them to.

My grandfather retired from the company at 70. That lasted 3 months then he became a substitute teacher despite zero experience outside coaching little league in the 70's. Hes been doing it full time the last 5 years. Cannot keep that man at home with grandma.

A better question is why would anyone above 65 wants to work? In my observation most of them that have at least a high school degree have a $90,000 Bus RV that is towing 2 Harleys.
