Should Metairie become a city?

All the discussion about St. George makes me wonder if Metairie should incorporate like St. George. I don't really have any major pros or cons about it. I was just wondering if someone has an opinion.
I live in Metairie and feel like my taxes are well spent. My kids go to a great public elementary school (always top 3 in state) for free, all the playground sports cost $4 plus uniform for the season, my home value steadily increases, roads are smooth, and I don't worry about flooding because of pump problems.
I would lean toward keeping the status quo, but I may be blind to advantages of incorporating in the City of Metry. Plus, we already have an official flag (yes, seriously):

I guess I'm ignorant. I always though Metairie was a city.

What does Metairie need that Jefferson Parish is denying it?
That’s the point behind EBR and St George. St George is getting screwed on tax revenue and being blocked from forming an ISD ostensibly because it isn’t a city yet.

If it was in Orleans Parish it already would have. Metairie being in God's country Jefferson Parish kind of makes it unnecessary.

Only if they bring back Fat City

City of Old Metry!
City limits will end just past Big Lee’s house

What it is now if its not a city? A really big neighborhood in Kenner?

I'm wondering the same thing about Prairieville, and like you without any opinions of pros or cons.

Just an unincorporated area within Jefferson Parish. Same as Harvey, Marrero, Terrytown, Avondale, Waggaman, and River Ridge

Now tell us about the Metairie public high schools, East Jeff, Grace King and Rummel.

It isn’t one?
No. It’s a census-designated place. It is not an incorporated city.

It would be funny to see the crime statistics.

I can’t tell where Metairie begins and New Orleans ends.
