Metairie is pretty chill. I might end up staying here a little longer than I initially planned.

Just an unincorporated area within Jefferson Parish. Same as Harvey, Marrero, Terrytown, Avondale, Waggaman, and River Ridge

If there's one thing Jefferson Parish has a lot of, its common parts.

Metairie should be bounded by causeway, the lake, 17th st canal, and Earhart. Everything west should be Kenner

So Metairie should give up Lakeside Mall to Kenner?

They should make you speak English to get in the park.

The next school for Metairie Academy and Airline Park are Haynes or Patrick F Taylor. Haynes is a public high school in Metairie. It has the highest average ACT, % of class being national merit semi finalists, and % that qualifies for TOPS of ANY high school in the state.

How did you get into those schools?

Just what Metairie needs. Another layer of politicians and taxes. President Chris Roberts! No thanks.

Oh I'm quite aware and I don't give a shite what other schools think about Rummel. I'm doing quite well for being a graduate there. But to compare a catholic school to some shitty public schools is just plain dumb.

Is Scummel even still open?? I thought all their potential students were now going to the magnet schools.

As to the OP, I can't think of anything Metairie would gain by becoming a city. They basically run JP now.

I went to Rummel and Haynes (when it was middle school) so let's not incorporate everyone as a genius here

Now tell us about the Metairie public high schools, East Jeff, Grace King and Rummel.

As mentioned, Rummel is a Catholic school. The OP advised that his kids attend a good public school which always is 2cd or 3rd in the state which indicates that his kids go to Haynes Academy on Metairie Road.

I have often thought that Metairie should incorporate. Our taxes could go to our own concerns and not have to bundle them in a pool for the rest of the parish. Frankly, though, this will never happen. Jefferson Parish will never let this happen. Nice thought, though.
