A woman can put her kids up for adoption without the father's consent?

IF the baby is born, you should take care of it. Don't want to have to take care of a kid, get better at using condoms and pulling out. It's not rocket science.

derp, why cant that same logic apply to women then?

pretty sure that this topic only comes in play as long as abortion is legal

I have no problems with abortion being legal, but a "legal" abortion is stupid. Someone will need to take care of that child if it is actually born. "Legally aborting" doesn't change that.

There are a great many people that don't agree with this at all.

I'd say next to nobody agrees with it, it's a straw man. But it's easier to vilify an opposing views when they celebrate something horrible.

yes, absolutely

it has always bothered me that men have no rights when it comes to the abortion of their own child

Counterpoint... until it's born, how do they know for sure that it's their child?

I agree. The abortion issue really changes the dynamics of the argument.

Because when they abort there is no child still coming into the world. It's not the same, and it's pretty obvious.

The feminists love to tout that, "My body, my baby, my business" line up until someone actually wants to hold them to the logical ramifications of it.

Are the situations similar?

Men can impregnate woman after woman, all the while "aborting" his responsibilities. It seems like a Pandora's box

Women must incur the cost of abortion fiscally and mentally. If they choose not to abort, they will endure 9 months of pregnancy and childbirth.

I get that men's rights in the area of children are lacking. I just don't think that giving men this ability will make things better for anyone.

A mother could just drop her baby off at a "safe haven" now and legally abort her responsibility for the child from that point forward. Processes are already in place for this.

Yes, it complicates things without a TPR (Termination of Parental Rights), but for some reason in this country, custody issues almost always side with the mother's desires.

If you see a father that has full custody of his kids - the mother is probably in jail or should be. I've seen certifiably insane women get custody over hard working decent men.

then the mom is making the conscience decision to take care of the kid by keeping it

And the dad should still have to take care of his child if it is born. Don't like it, don't reproduce. I know you're smart enough to see the difference.

Or maybe the girl should just not get pregnant.

the issue is that the Dad has no rights when it comes to the decision for the child to be born or not
