No if you both agreed to get pregnant. Yes if you didn't agree to the pregnancy and were willing to abort and she wasn't. I know it seems harsh, but sorry a person should not be locked down to what is ultimately financially supporting mom and baby for 18 years if they never agreed to have the baby in the first place. I realize people are going to say that you knew the consequences when you stuck your dick in her, but one night of consensual sex shouldn't cost you 18 years to life of financial pain. If a woman demands to have a baby she should do it with the understanding that if the man clearly doesn't want said baby she will be solely supporting the child. Just my opinion. FWIW I have children that I completely agreed to having and I love spoiling the hell out of them. Raising children in a loving environment is the most rewarding thing anyone can ever do, but not everyone feels the same way about children and I respect that.

If you want to get more specific, surely you can agree that the male is the one responsible for the actually impregnation.

the woman is responsible for her body, no?

she is responsible for what goes into it

so no, I don't agree

Also, What if the woman lied and said she was on birth control? The man is still responsible for the child once it was born even though some bitch lied to him.

I have zero sympathy for the guy in this situation considering birth control isn't even 100% effective.

If you release yourself into a woman, you are making a conscious decision to deal with the litany of consequences that can arise from that act.

I just can't understand the concept of aborting a child out of convenience . Nothing is easy when it comes to parenting and I mean nothing . But the joy I get daily from my son out weighs it all .

Some parents chose not to have horribly deformed babies that would only suffer for their short life. Would you like pics?

As a male, you can have as much sex as you'd like without getting a woman pregnant. That is 100% up to you. If you get her pregnant, it is because you climaxed inside of her. Take responsibility for that action.

The vast majority do it out of convenience. Don't kid yourself.

I guess you need to man up and use a condom. Every time.

I'm not pro or anti-abortion... I have no stance on the subject... I'll leave that for the man upstairs...

I was just referring to the kid not knowing who his farther is...

No. The state (you the tax payer) has to fill the financial role when the father bails. The mother should be forced by law to provide who the father is, and the state should have a right to collect wages for the baby.

Do you think when it comes to abortion the reproduction was intentional? Both parties need to take responsibility. I think both parties should be involved in any decision from the time of conception.

Also, What if the woman lied and said she was on birth control? The man is still responsible for the child once it was born even though some bitch lied to him.

Sorry dude but if you dump your load in a girl, even if you think she's on birth control, you're still responsible for what happens. Birth control has a failure rate even when it's used correctly. No birth control method is 100% effective, so if you're having sex, you're tacitly accepting the possibility of fatherhood.

I guess your school didn't teach sex ed very well. All birth control has a failure rate, even when used correctly.

I understand what you are saying, but I cannot agree to that.

Biologically we are not the same. We all know the rules to the game. May not seem fair at times, but those are the breaks.

Stopping fricking people you don't want to reproduce with if you don't want to run the chance. Nothing is 100%. If you don't know how the human body works then you shouldn't be having sex.

I get that it takes two to tango. You've missed my point.

Lets say a man goes around impregnating women, he can get off scott free by legally aborting the child.

Now what about the woman he impregnated? He obviously wants nothing to do with the situation, so the cost of aborting or raising the child is on her.

Two to tango, only one bears the full cost of the act.

No I get it, but this should be the outcome. The problem with this is that all of these women had sex with this man. Why? Maybe they shouldn't have. Maybe we should be a little more careful about out of wedlock sex and children. But we aren't. As long as we create situations and structures that support bad decision making, all you do is empower bad decision making. This isn't rocket science.

I think it's a little deeper than this given the biological imperative and capabilities of a man. You are correct, a man can spread the seed without impunity and suffer no consequences. Women can't and are different. As a culture, we've decided to try and legislate men and women into the same path, the same capabilities, and we've created something that's both morally wrong (abortion) and unequal (men's rights vs. women's rights). Most likely we'll continue to double down, rather than stop fighting nature and biology.

Look, you're advocating for the father's rights in this thread, but the OP is centered around the father wanting less to do with his child, not more. If your goal is to have little to no responsibility to a child, don't climax inside of a woman. It truly is that simple.
