Should a house guest straighten the guest bedroom each day during a visit?

Keep it neat and orderly and make the bed? Or can they leave it a mess but keep the door closed while visiting?

This, if no one else needs in that room for any reason.

I can't imagine why I would care about this

Sorry your wife's boyfriend is keeping the joint messy.

if they want to be a house guest again, they should.

Should leave it like they found it.... once they depart.

They can treat it like a hotel room as far as I'm concerned.
I don't want them leaving crap all over the house but if the guest room is somewhat disorderly - who cares? They're traveling.

Depends on the situation.
If you’re a rare house guest (2-3 times per year or less), and the hosts keep their place near and you know or can discern that neatness is important to them, then keep it clean.
Use context clues and figure it out. If unsure, keep it neat. At least you pretty much can’t come off looking bad that way.

Depends on the circumstances. Like where the room is located in the house.
But in general, I'm fine with whatever they want to do as long as the room isn't a mess when they leave.

I give no shits about how their room looks while they are staying.

Just had my future in laws in town and they kept the room tidy and made the bed up when they left even though i wash sheets after each guest.
Was a nice change of pace from when my drunk a-hole friends visit

I usually do them the solid of hosing off the rubber sheets.
That's about it.

I normally ask if they want me to throw the sheets in the wash for them.
