I've seen men at my church in the summertime wear shorts. Especially on Saturday evening service where people dress more casually than on Sunday am service. But even on Sundays you can get away with fairly casual wear. Meaning...ok to wear jeans but not jeans and a tshirt.
Usually chino or khaki type shorts. Not denim or cargo.

This. Growing up with my catholic friends if we were at their false river camp they let us wear shorts to mass in New Roads.

I go to the most awesome church. Our pastor wears jeans 99% of the time. No one wears suits and ties. And yes I and others wear shorts! Ahhhh the horror!!!
Jesus is the focus people. It’s relaxed and everyone is made to feel comfortable in every sense of the word.

If Jesus is the focus then a house of worship is just a building. The church is the community you worship with. Wearing shorts should NEVER be the focus.
Jesus is the focus people. It’s relaxed and everyone is made to feel comfortable in every sense of the word.
