5 minute clip that shows how the war unfolded every day from start to finish.

Losing the Mississippi River was a backbreaker.

Also notice the accelerated Union casualty rate after Grant took command in 1864. Meat grinder.

That was really interesting.

Seems like the South spent too much time on defense. Underestimated the willingness of the Yanks to really commit to an invasion.

Why is Kentucky considered part of the South? Bunch of pansies up there.

I'm honoring memorial day by watching all glorious 8 hours of Gods and Generals and Gettysburg.

Sad that so many Americans died, both real Americans in the south and liberal yankees

Was all that worth it for gay marriage?

Because the objective wasn’t ever to subjugate the North. Just to do their own thing.

The one big offensive push they made, Lee’s heart wasn’t really in it.

Never had a chance with the waters being blue for the entire war.

This... I saw a special awhile back which claimed the North with half of the ground forces they committed would have won anyway because of this fact

I always find it funny when people trash talk people that died hundreds of years ago. So brave.

"Real Americans" who fought long and hard for a white supremacist government and defending the institution of slavery. It's revealing that you'd call these traitors who tried to destroy the United States "real Americans." You must be that guy I see driving around in that beat-up 1990 pickup truck with the big Confederate battle flag decal in the back window.

That awkward moment that you realize the north was still very much filled to the brim with white supremacist, including dear old Abe, while also realizing that slavery was legal in the north throughout the war with nearly half a million slaves still bound and chained in the north when the war came to an end.

Again, do you think you’re edgy or tough for trash talking dead people? What other dead people can you trash talk to show off how tough you are? How about Lyndon Johnson. He was pretty racist.

The same kind of Americans who fought King George.

Slavery was wrong. Racism is wrong.

But when the North invaded the South, Americans in the South stood up and fought for their home, neighbors and their state.

So were the colonialists evil traitors when they opposed King George and had slavery in all of the colonies themselves? Or are you just trying to virtue signal and have an internet fight because you are too lazy to understand history?
