I said it was probably unjustified and there certainly are reasonable people who say it was unjustified.

But, we won't know until the investigation is done.

Anyone ever see that first season episode of "The Boondocks" where MLK wasn't assassinated but was put into a coma by the attack, and then woke up in the year 2000? Great episode of television with, what I thought, was a good message.

Plus, the video paints a pretty good picture. He was reaching for his pocket, which happened to be the one with the gun in it. The police who yelled "he has a gun" did so with an alarming tone. Also, Sterling put himself in that situation, you really can't make the argument that it was unjustified.

Were you born yesterday??? If a police officer believes he's going for that gun, then he is justified in defending himself.

A gun doesn't have to be out of your pocket to shoot someone. It would have just been as easy for Alton to grab the gun in his pocket and pop the cop right in the stomach or the chest without ever removing it from his pocket.

I love it when people talk out of their arse and don't know shite about deadly force situations.

If he had a gun in his pocket and was trying to take it out, ignoring commands, still resisted after intermediate weapon usage, that is considered deadly force assault.

Best to just shut up so you don't look stupid.

No to mention, I posted a link in which someone explains just how someone could easily shoot someone without having to remove the gun from their pocket, he could have easily shot the gun through his shorts.

I didn't think about the shooting the gun while it is in the pocket. But, if he's trying to remove it, punch his foreaarm and knock the gun out of his hand, or if there are two of you, grab his hand.

There was also a long delay before the shots were fired.

It may end up being justified, I'm not an expert on this. But, there are some issues that need to be resolved.

You realize there's a thing called involuntary reflex, right? If his finger is on the trigger and they cause him to tense up, there's a good possibility the gun goes off.

Clearly.

Now you're just "moving the goalposts" for the argument. And with this new nonsense you're saying, it still allows a situation where the perpetrator can get the upper hand on the officers and harm/kill them.

I ask you...what's the worst thing that can happen to you or others if you have a difficult day at work?

Yeah, if someone was armed and about to pull a gun on me, that's what I am going to think "let me just try to knock the gun out of his hand. He might kill me, but I don't want to risk killing him". If he is able to shoot the gun from his pocket how the hell would they knock the gun out of his hand? They are wrestling with the guy, if they would have tried to knock the gun out of his hand it could of ended up like the situation in the police in Oklahoma thread. You can't make any type of assumptions in that situation.

If you are in a situation in which you have a split second to make a decision are you telling me you will process all of the other way you can do something else?
