Galleria

I haven’t been to a Galleria since 1982. That was in Dallas.

One thing I’d never seen before was a B&O store. They were similar to Bose lifestyle stores.

Record Bar
Sound Shop
Spencers
Corn Dog 7.
Book Stores.

Of course! How can you not miss Lakeside mall in the 80's or Cortana mall in the mid-90's.

The dynamic hallways, the record stores, the arcade, even Eckerd's lol.

There is nothing like Toys R Us nowadays.

The trips there were epic and I hate how I can’t bring my kids there now.

Now kids ask to track the Amazon mailman….

I miss malls at their mid 80’s to late 90’s peak. I don’t miss malls after 2000 when thug life moved in with crime and basically took them over and ran out the good shops and the middle class that spent money there.

I miss it for my kids. Going to the mall, walking around, talking to girls checking out music and going to the movie was a great night.

The 80s mall architecture and features were freaking awesome. I loved the multiple levels and unnecessary stairs in that mall. I also had a reoccurring dream about being in that mall as a young kid,

Why did we decide outdoor shopping is better? Makes no sense. Much of the country has many shitty outdoor weather months

Yes.

Smart phones
Social media
Online shopping

Killed malls.

They were a great place to socialize.

A well kept one wasn’t a terrible up on your feet activity when it was frigid/hot/rainy back in the day.

I won’t say a dream come true but plenty of time just strolling with friends or family instead of clicking on a phone on the couch to order stuff

Going to Journey’s and getting some stickers before sitting in massage chairs at Brookstone for 30 mins.
