Greatlakestiger showed you numbers where it is clear that Slidell has more violent crime. You ignored it.
I didn't ignore it. I've seen those numbers, they're old and inaccurate. I posted correct numbers and in terms of violent crime alone, Covington is significantly worse than Slidell.
There's some hurt feelings in this thread. The veneer has been stripped a little. I'm sorry your community isn't quite what you thought it was.
Just keep it out of Abita.

I don't live in Covington. And, I realize you're arguing just to argue. You'd never choose living in Slidell over Covington if you're familiar with both.
What is the date for that site's numbers?

Slidell is almost 3 times te size of Covington. It will have a greater overall crime rate but when it comes to violence, Covington's a seedy little place and significantly outpaces Slidell.
Honestly you are talking about one little strip of land near the parish prison.
Sorry baw, covington is more than that.
Those black folks aren’t going all around covington committing crimes. They just aren’t.

lol Abita and covington are literally on the same street.
And depending where you live in abita, you are closer to the high crime area of covington than people who live in other parts of covington.

So like other Northshore towns, Covington has a seedy underbelly. An underbelly that unfortunately is more violent than Slidell's.
Like I said, I live in the peaceful hamlet of Abita. I don't have a dog in this fight.
A myth has been busted here. Sorry for the feels.

Don't lump Abita in with the likes of Covington and Slidell.

This thread is funny
What’s funny is that the chance of anyone in either Slidell, Covington, Mandeville and Lacombe facing any type of crime, much less violent crime is almost minuscule. You’re probably less likely to be a victim of crime in any place on the Northshore when compared to the south side.

You’re more likely to die of a drug overdose or get sexually molested on the Northshore than any other place in America

Especially in Covington.

Covington sex crime ratio. 56 residents to 1 sex criminal
LINK
Slidell sex crime ratio. 190 residents per 1 sex criminal
Covington's a violent, dirty place.
If you want to keep your wives and children safe. Get the frick out of Covington.

Slidell > metairie even. Only reason to live in Metairie is if you’re single and want easier access to college females
It’s a great place to grow up as a kid

most "safe" suburbs don't have shootings at the fair (covington), cops getting shot (mandeville), or rappers getting into shootouts (slidell)

All of those things happen in New Orleans and BR regularly.
Rappers were dumped on the side of the road bleeding everywhere in front of our mall recently

The difference is the innocent families and young college students aren’t targeted on the northshore anywhere. If there is violent crime it’s among those people that are looking for it
Posted on 10/3/22 at 9:00 am to Proximo
the difference is it doesn't happen at all in most "nice" suburbs. and i don't think captain liberto was "looking for it" when he was shot and killed.
