Initially, you want to know what is going on. You want a handle on what has happened etc. Victims? Fatalities? Safe or not? Those type things. Later on, who gives a frick who this guy(s) turns out to be.
Our local media is all over it right now, catching people coming out and meeting their parents. It is tacky though. Frazzled parents and crying kids all live.
And for folks who don't know Santa Fe is pretty far south of Houston and pretty damned country. So some country folk just going about their day and a camera is shoved in their face.
One guy just said a shotgun was used, but this is a dad giving a second hand account of one of his kids.

Damn, KHOU reporting at least 8 casualties and explosive device used. EDIT- not sure yet if it's 8 casualties (i.e. injuries) or 8 fatalities.
Freaking kids these days, social media is generating monsters with no regard for human life. Frankly, there's a much more compelling argument to limit access to social media than the means with which they carry out mayhem (guns, explosives, cars, etc.) caused by the impacts of social media.
