Idk, it's hard to blame these issues when the US violent crime rate has fallen for nearly 30 years and is as low today as it was in the early 1970s. It's difficult to blame music and video games too.
School shootings by students are a unique issue.
I've said this before in the other school shooting thread, I wish someone would gather data for the average time a parent is at home vs violence in school to see if there is any correlation.

i was just answering your question. a knife can be just as deadly. this isnt a weapon issue.
If you had to choose to fight, unarmed, against someone with a knife or a gun, which would you choose?
I'd choose to fight someone with a knife, 100 times out of 100. I still might die, but I'd have a better chance of making it out alive.

Yeah I agree.
Its a social media/internet thing IMO.

that shooings such as this are just part of life, so just accept it?
no... humans are going to be humans... but if we can identify those humans that are more prone to outburst of violence, and try to alleviate or correct that BEFORE something bad happens, we can try to avoid this sort of thing...
also, if we make certain weapons harder to attain, whether background checks, mental evals, or even making them super expensive, we can curb the amount of times things like this can happen....
both, in conjunction, could very well save a bunch of lives, going forward, if we do the right thing in this situation... but we have to have an actual discussion at the legislative level to make it happen...

Imo: Boys who are way energetic typically get put on some type of downer just to slow them down. (That's opinion based will have to find the data)
But the kids doing these shooting seem different than "normal" kids who got put on some downers for being a bit hyper.
They seem like freaks. Hell they look like freaks.

Btw I wasn't saying that's what we need to do, I was saying that's what the lefts response will be. They'll never admit they're wrong, just move further left

I can and did answer the question. It’s not a gun problem. It’s not even a mental heatlh problem. It’s a heart problem. Namely, these kids have no love in their heart because they’ve never been taught to love. They have no humanity. They don’t value any life except their own. People are seen as nothing more than things. They have no moral foundation built on the bedrock of God’s commandment to love Him and love one another. They have no sense of right and wrong because the adults in their life have taught them that right and wrong is “subjective”. Do what you want. We sowed the seeds of this generation and now those seeds are starting to bear fruit. We made these kids. We did it because we have turned our back on our own moral foundation and now live on the shifting sands of moral relativism.
Unless we recognize the fact it’s not a gun problem or even a mental health problem but instead it’s a heart problem, things will only get worse.
So there’s your answer. You probably won’t like it and will probably reject it because it requires you to check yourself and see your own faults in your own heart. I’m just as guilty as anyone. But it’s true. And deep down inside even if you won’t admit it, you know it’s true.
Whether you believe in the Christian aspects of this post or not, it's a good post. I do, but even those who don't should recognize that modern young people are far too often directionless and without any sense of purpose.
Not to be all Jordan Peterson about it, but "that's not good."

That isn’t to say that people don’t have a future, but is more of an idea that everything is already handed to us and available with little to no effort, therefore what is the point?

I find it extremely telling how you refuse to reply to post that explicitly point out your gloating hypocrisy.
Point in case.
So let 10 year olds drive?
5 year olds drink whiskey?
7 year olds can go fight in the military?
Hmmm. I bet if you would take your head out of your arse and see how absolutely horrible social media is for minors and how it has directly increased suicide rate in teens. You would be all for banning it as it “saves just one life”
But, of course, you see nothing wrong with limiting the liberties of minors when it comes to voting, drinking, Smoking, buying guns, joining the military.
But sure let’s give them an avenue to bully each other 24/7 which leads to a direct increase in teen suicide and depression!
You aren’t very good at being consistent

quote:NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND!!
In reality, it's probably us. We're letting these kids fall through the cracks and often we're not doing enough to tell authorities when that happens.
Some times a kid needs to be held back because they dont develop as quick as others.

I agree that this is part of the problem.
Another issue is that we live in an instantaneous society. Everything is supposed to happen in an instant. If a kid is getting picked on or a girlfriend breaks up with him or he fails a test...it’s the end of the world if things don’t immediately get better. They haven’t had to endure and persevere. They’ve also been taught that their feelings and opinions are the most important thing in the world and don’t know how to deal with it when society proves otherwise.

You can have an equally as strong moral foundation without religion.
Its so short sighted to say stuff like this.
ETA:
These kids grow up comparing themselves to others on the internet and social media and de-value humanity. They consider themselves and others to be "things".
Everyone is desensitized these days.

We have too many lives currently. Why do we need to keep more alive? We need a good die off.
