So I know safety razors are pretty popular around here. Just started and loving it. My only complaint is the small diameter of the razor handle. I'm more used to disposable razor handles. Are there any larger diameter handles on the market or possible wooden handles that you would recommend...

My manservant probably could answer this question.

He’s washing one of the Bentleys at present, I shall ask him upon my next seeing of him.

Something similar to the dollar shave club handle would be great.

Check out Stirling Soap Company. It’s a mom and pop shop out of Booneville, Arkansas. They have some reasonably priced safety razors. Most are going to have a 3 to 3.5 inch handle though. Stirring also has very nice and reasonably prices shave soap. I’ve been ordering from them for several years and really enjoy their shave soaps.

Edit: a bigger diameter on the razors is going to be even harder to find.

RazorRock still around?

They had a steel handle that was a bit fatter.

I love my classic Merkur safety razor that cost like $30. I’ve had it since 2015 and it’s still going strong. It would be hard to justify an $87 version, honestly.

A simple google search would likely put you on some razors that suit your need.

I've had that one for 12 years and it's the best balance of weight I've ever seen. I'd recommend it.

If my old reliable ever rusts I may have to check it out. Merkur’s quality is top notch.

Also to the OP, if you’re looking for a great blade, I would recommend these:

Perma-Sharp Double Edge Safety Razor Blades, 100 Count, 20 Count (Pack of 5)

I experimented with a bunch of sampler packs until I settled on these blades. They are very smooth and also forgiving. You can’t beat the price either on Amazon. They’ll last almost a year if you use a new blade every 3 days or so.

Shaving with a safety razor

Give blood, use a safety razor.

No idea how you frickers do it, or why. I tried this, but I realized after a couple of weeks why safety razor technology was replaced by blades that don't cut the frick out of you.

If you use one of these safety razors to shave your head, you'll be as nervous as a dog shitting a peach seed.

One thing I did continue to use though is a shave bowl, proraso soap and a bristle brush. I'll never buy shaving cream in a can ever again.

Unlike yourself, I’ve never considered that angle.

Project much?

I’m thrilled to be patently heterosexual.

A double edged safety razor, not a straight razor, right?

I literally never cut myself, and I genuinely don't know what to tell you, as I can't fathom how you were fricking up that badly
