That is a school session which is no where near the level of cheap that this is. In a school session you are expected to be roomed with random people and meet people. When you are in your career field working for a company that is sending people for "training" it is not very often you hear of one making you room with some random person. School you are normally the same age and at least have something in common. At these things age can range as far as 40 years apart and it would be plain weird and unprofessional to share a room.

I remember going to MEPs prior to entering the military we shared rooms with complete strangers. Just get to learn the guy, life is a big social event.

Ah okay, haven't had to experience that yet outside of education based events so was just giving one perspective. I did have to share a room with my advisor (late 50s, early 60s?) for a conference back in september for a week. Don't think I'd do that again, found he snores like a MF

GF's old firm used to do this. Thankfully for her it wasn't a complete stranger, just another girl from another of the firm's offices, but they purposefully didn't put them with people from their office so they'd be forced to get to know people from the satellite offices.

GF was in late 20s, but the more senior people and partners had to do the same. How stupid.

To save money

Here is my main problem, they are wasting so much money on this bullshite training. Travel, meals, ground transportation. All for some frick-all conference that nobody will pay attention to. But they want to save $100 a man and make them bunk up?

You think a company this cheap would give rooms with kitchens? Two doubles about 3 feet apart if I had to guess.

IDK, I was just taking a guess on a possibility. I didn't actually think that would be the case.

In the past, I have stayed in those types of rooms, and they were typically the same price as your standard 2 double beds room.

Man, that's nothing. I had to spend 3 months in a training. They had 2 bedroom company apartments. Kicker in our instance was 4 to an apartment. There were so many complaints that they discontinued the practice. I still hate the guy I had to live with . Would have been nothing if it was just two to the apartment, but sharing a room was terrible.

If I was in the situation, and I could swing it, I'd pay for my own room at a shitty hotel if needed. But if it's not in the financial cards, it's not worth jeopardizing your career over or anything. I mean worse case, guy tries to frick you and you get a sweet sexual harassment settlement. Win-win in my opinion.

I used to have to travel to the Middle East from time to time. VPs got to stay at a hotel, but those of us below that level had to stay in one of the company apartments and you'd share the accommodations with who knows who. Fortunately, it had separate bedrooms but you shared a bath.

Yep, your plan should be to get fricking spring break drunk all day/night while there.

I went on one of these last May. We drove from BR, was blackout by the time we hit Lake Charles. Showed up to training hungover as frick with flasks and shite.

It was a blast.

One bed or two?

Bring a hooker back to the room and ask him to split the cost.
