I'd pay for my own room. I don't want to sleep next to a stranger.

get another room using your company card.
I don't even share rental cars much less a hotel room, and this is with people i know that i work with.

How long will you be there? If it's longer than a couple days, absolutely. However, if it's just for the weekend or something, you're being dramatic. It's not like you gotta stay in the room all day with him.

Is it like a Residence Inn? Could be a 2BR suite, where you only share the common area/kitchen.

Just be the one the other person will be scared of... You know, let him think "man this dude seems to be a little crazy" that way you don't have to be wondering if you have to watch out for him.

You don't really think this, right?

Yea I'd call bullshite on that.

frick That. I would be paying for my own room even if I could not expense it. That is way to weird.

You think a company this cheap would give rooms with kitchens? Two doubles about 3 feet apart if I had to guess.

"Hey dude, I'm about to shower."
"Hang on chief, I have to take a huge shite. Want me to make coffee when I'm in there?"

We had to share a room for one big annual trade show because there were not enough rooms in town for vendors and attendees. My buddies and I took good care of the admin who assigned roommates so she put us with people we got along with and had similar drinking schedules instead of some random stranger. We made the best of it and had a great time.

Most reputable companies aren't going to have this kind of arrangement these days for HR purposes. Choosing to force people to share a hotel room is an HR situation just waiting to happen... and I'm not talking about the buttsecks.

Hopefully and it's not 1 queen size.

Exactly. I hope he likes to drink.

Is it really that bad? I had a summer school session two years ago for a week and had to share a room with a random guy in the program. Met a bunch of other people through him, wasn't too bad

Plenty of reputable companies do this and I've never heard of any HR issues from the practice after 20+ years in the industry, unless you count some occasional old dude complaining about his roommate coming in drunk at 3 am every night.

If you fail any of the tests just say your roomie was loud and you couldn't study

Sleeping is the most vulnerable part of the day.
BTW, I had to share a room with a stranger waiting for military health assessment (pre-military, no contract signed).... I didn't sleep at all. Creepy hearing a guy you don't know sleep next to you. Pay the extra and get your own room.
