They would likely have increased at a much slower rate or to a lesser degree had this current administration not taken the anti-fuel actions and stances they already have.
The presidency can not control fuel prices, but it is a variable at play.

Fair enough, but that was about as subtle as a sledgehammer. I can't imagine the Saudis would be so obvious with Iran (nor do I think they really have the capability for actions of this scope).

As an aside, Biden supporters are blaming Trump's abandonment of the deal - and not Biden's immediate appeasement and weakness toward Iran - for the sudden uptick in Iranian malfeasance.

They really don't. A hit squad made up of the King's loyal guard is far different from the IRGC, who can run extra-territorial operations of a scope that are surprising for a country under sanctions for 40+ years.

You know...a cynical person might look at the past 4 administrations and said you know what despite their rhetoric in 3/4 administrations the people have paid sky high gas prices and big oil has gotten richer. Maybe it’s a coincidence. Maybe it’s intentional I don’t know
Only one administration did prices go down and as soon as he left prices shot up.
Only one guy acted in service of the people and the others benefited big international conglomerate corporations.

Could be internal sabotage and we see a civil war in Iran. There is some dissention with the old guard. They have the internet now and young people can see how bougie Iran was before the revolution in the 70s.

no-one at any level of government ever looks out for the people - they only look out for themselves and their self interests. people like to point fingers at one side or another, but in reality - all aspects are equally to blame in the sad state of affairs we are in.
