Reflectivity was really high. Not surprised to hear about hail. Finally picked up a severe thunderstorm warning.

New tornado watch issued for a large part of Alabama, effective until 4am CT.

Yeah, that sucks.
Overnight tornado watches don't get the proper care.
Many will sleep through the dangers

I have my NOAA weather radio ready to scare me to death in the middle of the night.

My recommendation is to set it for only your county and for tornado warnings only.
Maybe severe thunderstorm warnings, too.
But that's it.
Nothing like getting a 2 AM wake up call for river flooding 50 miles away in another county

The newer the better in that regard. I cut a lot of stuff off on mine. I left avalanche warnings and iceberg warnings....I ain't fricking with no avalanche. If one happens in North AL, I wanna know ASAP.

There has been some interesting radar watching the past couple days:

They sent the phone alerts out about 30-45 minutes ahead of the deadly tornado a few weeks ago and that thing was going HAM until I woke up around 3am. The twister wound up going about 20 miles to my south but was thankful they sent it. I'd rather be woken up and not have one on top of me than the opposite.

As I head to bed, Im checking radar and see some rotation heading towards Plaquemine. Anyone else see that?
