So, absolute and utter destruction of the entire island with millions of lives lost or two cities?

I will go with the call Truman made.

I would wager all the 6-10 million plus people who were killed, tortured and enslaved by Japan (And millions of their surviving loved ones) from China to Australia and everywhere in between would disagree with you.

Watch the above clip from the movie "The Great Raid"....start at the 3:15 mark.

This was a true occurrance and was done to American POW's who had been captured as US Forces got closer and closer to the Japanese mainland during the latter months of the war.

F-Hiroshima and F-Nagasaki. The only thing I would have done differently is used one on Tokyo and then used one on Moscow to keep their arse in line and prevent the Cold War. (Patton was way ahead of the game here)

Then I wouldn't have had to spend so many damn freezing nights in foxholes in Europe making sure Ivan wasn't going to get any ideas about making the rest of Europe red.

If I remember correctly, the story of this flight is amazing in that Nagasaki was not the intended target and that they almost did not make it back to safety and were running low on fuel. They landed at a strip almost too small for the plane and the pilot apparently punched someone for not being at their radio station on the ground.

Pearl Harbor, Bataan death March. We don't apologize for shite. The Japs were evil sadistic people with how they treated prisoners. My Dad was only 7 years old when the war ended. But he absolutely hates them from the stories he heard from uncles and cousins of his who served during the war.

It's tough, but it saved many innocent lives as well.

They did drop leaflets ahead of time for notice, but I realize they didn't take it seriously. We had no such notice.

The biggest dick slap the U.S., or any country for that matter, ever gave in history.

Too bad society became pussies in the 60's

Didn’t we broadcast warnings, drop warning slips from planes and tell them days in advance to evacuate the city?
