Depends on whether a D or R is in office

This has no impact on what happens. Every election year there is something extreme that happens. Both sides play the same games. Not saying this virus was created to create panic.. It just might be used to create panic..

But in 2016 all of a sudden we became divided by race more than we had been in a long time.. Black Lives Matters.. People were protesting everywhere (although most of the people were being bussed in to cities where they were protesting). All kind of crazy shite was going on.. Elections days comes.. The Black Lives thing just sort of disappeared.

Each side is just as guilty as the other. And they both blame each other. What needs to happen is people need to start buying into the bullshite.

I think it's great precedent

When the real deal shite comes people will have been there before and governments will be able to go "what worked/didn't work back in 2020?"

Or, it could backfire.

If nothing happens and people think their lives were thrown off for something that didn’t deliver, the number of those who will reject it next time could increase.

The best way to contain the spread of a virus is to discourage people from going places with large crowds. What's the problem?

It is odd with how severe the reaction has been.

I was talking with a guy at work and he was asking me if I remember hearing anything like this with SARS, Swine flu, Ebola, or Zika? And I had honestly forgotten about the Zika virus outbreak a few years ago. Granted it or Ebola didn't spread as easily worldwide, but their mortality rates (not certain on Zika, but certainly Ebola) are way higher.

That is my fear with this. Something that is easily transmissible like this with the mortality of Ebola. frick that noise. That's panic mode for me and mine.

Serious question. If Hillary is President do you think we’re here right now?

Grade schools shite down for rain nowadays. I’m surprised the world hasn’t been ordered to shelter in place at this point.

It’s so easy to tell who lives in a microscopic town or just in a little, isolated bubble.

This shite is intense and at the least, it’s knocking people off their feet for a couple weeks and at its worst, it’s killing people.

How can people be so oblivious? Yes, you moron, it is setting a precedent.

Distinction without difference.

Who shut it down? Why didn’t you answer? As if I don’t know. Lol

God you Trumpkins have become insufferable lately. World leaders aren't closing off sections of their countries just to get at Trump, a pandemic wasn't declared to unseat Trump, all these cancellations of sports leagues and schools aren't to own Trump.

Get your head out your own arse and realize that this is very much a serious problem. I mean Trump himself banned flights to Europe.

The media is being insanely irresponsible but I don’t know how you combat it. It’s just gotta run it’s course. They’d rather we live in some post-apocalyptic hellscape as long asf it manages to make Trump Look bad.

I swear most posters here stopped listening to everything after trump basically called it a nothingburger earlier. Anything after dear leader spoke is liberal lies.

And I say this as someone who voted for him in 2016 and plans to vote for him again in the fall before someone wants to call me prog filth or whatever.

you combat it by having it run its course at a pace our healthcare system can treat the number of people infected at once.

this has nothing to do with making trump look bad.

in fact if they wanted to make trump look bad they wouldnt shut anything down, would get everyone infected as quickly as possible, and then watch the healthcare system get overloaded and the death toll rise to a much higher number than it will get by slowing down spreading/shutting things down

Think you are spot on.

Their brains can’t handle the fact that Trump cancelled flights from Europe.
