I think it's great precedent

When the real deal shite comes people will have been there before and governments will be able to go "what worked/didn't work back in 2020?"

Or, if this turns out to be nothing....

People will think back to this media induced crisis and ignore all of the warnings.

Cool. I didn’t respond to the op. It was to your asinine post about republicans.

And as such asked who shut down travel. .

H1N1 was far worse during a Dem reign w/o hysteria.

Oh. We are comparing something that hasn’t finished to H1N1. Lol

And if you didn’t see the hysteria on Fox, etc then you are willfully blind.

And, the way the two presidents handled their crisis couldn’t be different

I agree but that's a choice made by dumb people. I'd prefer our systems have this experience than not have it (and I think it's also useful for the present situation).

no. H1N1 didnt spread globally. also H1N1 already had a vaccine available in 2009 and a fatality rate of 0.01-0.08% compared to coronavirus at over 2%

People really ought to stop quoting fatality rates without the proper context or the proper understanding of thr metric in the first place.

Herd mentality. If aspirin started going low in stock people would rush to buy that, too.

With schools, athletic events, concerts, etc. all being shut down will this happen every time something comes around in the future?

Hopefully. It’s the best way to slow the spread of the virus.

So Italy, a first world country that the BBC says has one of Europe’s best health care system, is completely shutting down their country, essentially declaring martial law and losing tens of billions of dollars, all to stick it to trump?

Most those being affected already have respiratory issues or are elderly. If you fall in those two categories or feel slightly off, then stay home. But shutting down everything now just means the next time this comes around, it will be the same process and society cannot function like that.

Ok but what about the very large percentage of healthcare workers that have kids that can transmit the virus while showing no signs? We should just let 40% of our healthcare workforce contract the disease and then not be able to go to work due to the risk of them spreading it?

Can we just bring back the regular OT? This overreaction shite straight up sucks. This board has turned into a bunch of frickin Facebook moms.

From an outsiders view, it started with Kobe’s death

It used to be, fake emotion and virtue signaling got you ridiculed like crazy here. For Kobe’s death, it was Facebook mom central here. One after another of people being more upset than the next person. Now this

I made my account purely because of this. I lurked for years without making an account. But this shite brought me to posting
