Not sure how you got there but healthcare workers are most prone to being exposed while at work, so are you saying we tell them not to go to work so they don’t get exposed?

My SO is an RN and their hospital has already set up testing for all of their staff if they feel they have come into contact with the virus. as well as any family/friends that they come into contact with. That is understandable because they are on the frontlines fighting the disease

Can we just bring back the regular OT? This overreaction shite straight up sucks. This board has turned into a bunch of frickin Facebook moms.

From an outsiders view, it started with Kobe’s death

It used to be, fake emotion and virtue signaling got you ridiculed like crazy here. For Kobe’s death, it was Facebook mom central here. One after another of people being more upset than the next person. Now this

I made my account purely because of this. I lurked for years without making an account. But this shite brought me to posting

Tell us how the media controls governments. Or CEOs.

Why have they failed so miserably in across the globe. Why have the Koch’s, Walton’s, etc been so impervious.

Agree 100%. After this fizzles out, people will credit the precautions (i.e. tanking the economy). Then we'll tank the economy every few years ad infinitum, until you're all slaves.

I blame all of you for not paying attention in school.

If the media were in charge we would still have flights coming from China.

Its often a symbiotic relationship. But one good example in America would be cnn rigging debates for the dnc in 2016 to hand pick the candidate. The media literally picked the presidential candidate and then did everything it could to get her elected.

Seriously? You can’t think of an example of the media influencing a ceo?

This is an incoherent sentence that ends in a period instead of a question mark.

Bruh this doesn’t set a dangerous precedent. We have the chance to stop another seasonal illness like the flu that kills many thousands each year. Stop it now before it takes hold.

With schools, athletic events, concerts, etc. all being shut down will this happen every time something comes around in the future? Is civilization just supposed to come to a screeching halt for a virus that may just be a minor blip in human history?

If the media hates the president yes

Lol

Wrong

Across the globe we have seen the rise of ultra conservative govs that the media has decried.

Yet you claim they control them. Russia? Lol. Us. Lol. UK. LOL. HUNGARY. LOL Brazil. Lol. Turkey. Lol Saudis. Lol

Influencing isn’t controlling.

But, I noticed that you didn’t post anything. Strange that you wouldn’t. Lol

Hardly. It is a statement of fact.

And you can’t answer.

I know. It’s much easier to claim others are naive.

If you want the "regular OT" people could help by not posting threads like this one. I've seen just as many threads complaining about people overreacting.

Most those being affected already have respiratory issues or are elderly. If you fall in those two categories or feel slightly off, then stay home. But shutting down everything now just means the next time this comes around, it will be the same process and society cannot function like that.

No. Most of the people that have died were either elderly or had preexisting medical conditions.

People of all ages are being affected, including healthy, young people with strong immune systems. You don’t seem to understand what a novel virus is; it’s novel in the sense that it’s a new strain none of us have previously been exposed to, and thus, highly contagious. And even if you’re healthy, once infected, it’s just as bad if not worse than the flu - it is knocking people off their feet for weeks. So just to be clear, you think this is something we should be comfortable with exposing our population to in droves? Allow hundreds of thousands of people to become sick just so you don’t have to wait a few months to attend a rescheduled event or so you can still watch sports?

How tragic that there won’t be any sports on and you might have to actually get off your fat arse and venture outside with nothing good on tv.

Depends on who is President and how well the economy is doing for average Americans.

If Hilldog was POTUS right now, this fear mongering wouldn't be happening at this level.
