Have been going to Sam's for years and had a Costco open up recently nearby.
Costco -- cleaner store (of course, ours is brand new), better bakery, better house brand stuff, more inventory, more impressive meat and seafood selection
Sam's -- considerably less expensive, signage to tell you what's in each aisle, their "scan n' go" app is the tits. Still good meat but don't have the selection of Costco.
If you can afford it, keep both memberships for at least a year to determine which you find yourself happiest with. If it's an either/or kind of deal, I'd opt for Sam's for budget and get-in-get-out convenience or Costco for selection and good house brand items.

Sams has the crap our kids eat. The fake chickfila that really isn't chickfila has cut our trips there 90%, they now only ask for breakfast from time to time from there.
We got Sam's club because they give a free membership every winter, you pay $45 for the membership but they give you a $45 gift card you can use the same day.
I will say the "stuff" at costco is generally better, but the Sam's restaurant stuff is solid, the durable goods and single use items.
When Costco puts something on sale it is usually makes a good deal and excellent deal. I don't see as many deals at Sams club.

Has this been proven to be true?

Costco, I hardly ever go to Sam's anymore.

Costco and it’s not close

Costco has great prices and great service.
Sam's literally has WalMart service and customers.
This is not even a debate

Sams turned into the ghetto when they started accepting EBT/Food Stamps. So basically, it’s Wal-Mart in bulk.

I'm not going to call it ghetto, but the two Sams that I used to go to were def. trashy as all hell between employees and customers.

Prefer Costco because it's closer, they treat employees well, and Kirkland products. I have lately been annoyed that many items that used to be non-organic are now only organic. Organic is fine but I'd mostly prefer to save money on non-organic.
But difference isn't enough that I'd drive past Sam's to go to Costco.

Costco is within 3 miles from the house, most of our shopping is done there and the 2% annual refund pays for the membership and then some. No complaints.
I was a SAM's guy for 20+ years until I moved here and there is not a SAM's within 40 miles (Washington State).
I love Costco now. Their snack bar is the best.

Kirkland Vodka= Titos.
Kirkland Vodka is distilled in France...
"Both Kirkland and Grey Goose are made in Cognac with distillation techniques sourced from the neighboring Cognac houses. The vodkas are five times distilled in a state of the art distilleries. Both are made from 100% fine French wheat. Both use pure artesian spring water originating in the Massif Mountains of France. This water flows into cognac after being filtered naturally through champagne limestone leaving it rich in minerals and flavor."

80% of all U.S vodkas come from Midwest ethanol plants. Brands just buy the food grade ethanol from these plants at 95%, might distill it again, cut it to 40% with water, finish and sell.

This is BS. Cognac is distilled wine (aka, grappa) from the Cognac region in France. Once distilled the grappa is aged on oak barrels to become Cognac.

This is another marketing phrase. Vodka has to be distilled above 95% to be called vodka. To achieve 95% the beer to make vodka, whether from corn, wheat, potatoes, etc., is distilled typically to the equivalent of 24 times in a continuous distillation column with 24 plates . Can be less at a slower rate and can be more at a higher rate. It’s more nuanced than this but this is more accurate description than being “distilled five times”.

I really wish Costco would adopt Sam’s scan and go app. Scan the items while you shop, pay, and walk out. It’s great.
