We’ve had both. They have great value. Since it’s only 2 of us at home and the locations are over 40 minutes away we don’t see a need to have a membership.

Sams is better for staples...paper towels, TP, trash bags, laundry detergent etc and cheaper on good quality meats.

Sams has excellent meat, and it's better priced than Costco. Not to say Costco doesn't have good meat, but they are super proud of it.

Sam’s club has a much wider assortment than Costco. I’m surprised I haven’t seen posts referencing that difference.

I go to neither. Never been in Costco. Think I went to Sam’s about 20 years ago.
