Went to Costco yesterday. Bought some water, paper towels, vacuum seal bags, children's claritin and apple sauce. In and out in about 15 minutes.

I’ve belonged to both at the same time. I let Sam’s expire. It’s a dump compared to Costco. Costco by a mile and it isn’t even debatable. If Costco went away I could never go back to Sam’s.

They sell USDA Prime. Are you insinuating Costco gets better USDA Prime than Sam's, despite both being graded the same by the USDA?

I've bought some gorgeous steaks from Sam's in the past.

And they both usually get the meat from the same suppliers in most areas. They're usually prime steaks that are too close to expiration date for restaurants to buy. Or used to be. Friend of mine worked for a food distribution company and sold meat to Sam's. This was before Costco was in this area.

Sam’s club has a much wider assortment than Costco. I’m surprised I haven’t seen posts referencing that difference.

Right, that's why Costco is much better.

Costco focuses on quality stuff with less variety, Sams focuses on a bunch of crap.

Costco clientele is significantly better. Sams is utter trash.

Yeah, I'm not sure I fully believe that either. He may have actually said something different. It's been several years. They definitely used to get their meats from the same suppliers as restaurants did.

All of Costco’s “prime” cuts are blade tenderized

I've eaten plenty of medium steaks from Costco and will continue to do so. People make this out to be a bigger deal than it is

That quality come with price, but Costco sells higher grades than Sam's

They both sell prime and Sam’s doesn’t blade tenderize theirs. Costco prime is usually cheaper than sams prime at least at the Lafayette locations
