WBRZ

Good work BRPD. I remember this murder. In the Park Place Apts across the street from City Park. Thankfully he is already on Death Row in Texas where they will actually use it.

Holy crap, thanks for posting this.

I lived on oleander st at the time (about .5 miles away), and had a good friend in those apartments when this happened.

Damn, time flies.

Whats the reason it takes so long to complete the sentence?

Shouldnt he have been put to death shortly afterward?

I know it takes 15-20 years or more usually.

Is is because of appeals? Human rights organizations that file an appeal to keep the case open?

Pretty much. Appeals processes are lengthy and attorneys find any way they can to delay.

so that makes 3 serial killers working the BR area at that time?

I remember when this happened. I was living in the Garden District on Camelia a couple blocks away. Thankful that her family at least may find justice for their daughter's senseless murder. She was a beautiful young lady.

It will be interesting to see where this goes. She was from Ponchatoula and was the step daughter of some of my relatives. They were 100% convinced that she was killed by a guy from here. The story was that they knew who did it but they never could get enough evidence. Haven't heard much talk about it in years, maybe things changed.

Well apparently they found a glove at the scene with this guy’s DNA on the inside and he was convicted of killing another woman a few weeks before. Pretty definitive imo.

So they had a glove with his DNA on it for 20 years, and are just recently put it through databases to find a match? WTF, if this was such an important, high profile case, shouldn't they have done this at least ONCE in that time?

Yep. Plus this guy.

Plus the DC sniper from that time period was from BR too. Holy shite

Plus whoever was killing all the hookers down the road in Jennings at that time. Probably some one totally different

This is amazing news. This murder was especially haunting for the lack of motive and evidence. NOBODY expected it to be solved. Well done!
