In all fairness, those cheap arse factory scissor jacks are a pain in the arse. If you don't use them often, no shame in looking up how to put them together.
Personally I always chuck them and put a four way and a bottle jack in their place.

Some cars don't have spares or space for them. My BMW did not.

I got enough tools in my truck that I could swap the engine out on the side of the road. I got a flat on my Tundra and took me about 15 minutes and reading the owners manual to figure out how to lower the spare tire

For the life of me I don't understand why one has to be "taught" how to change a damn tire.
It's about as self-explanatory as it gets, and there's even step by step instructions with tips in the owners manual for those with no experience.
People have ZERO common sense these days, and I'm 32.

What about lock nuts?
PSA: When buying a used car always make sure the locknut key is in the glove box. Or you can end up on the side of the road for an hour waiting on a tow truck, be out $200 and looking for a nice shade tree mechanic willing to cut all four of the frickers off.
Hate those damn things.

I got a flat a couple of weeks ago and had to wait for my dad to show up with an impact wrench bc the tire iron couldn’t reach the lugs.
If the Jeep had custom rims chances are they had the same issue. Recessed lugs.
Felt like a complete fricking idiot.

Not even tied under the car? I'm not a car expect but I've never heard of a car without some slot or space for a spare except for a racecar.
