Pay the guy with caution lights and a truck to block the path of oncoming traffic. Idiot.
So, you know the situation, and know that they are out in traffic, and not generally on the shoulder of the road? They don't have hazard lights, and one of them has broken arms, and he can't walk up the traffic a little ways to give warning signals?
Go ahead, make excuses to be a puss. You are what you are.
Eat shite. You, probably already do.

My kids all know how to change a flat, but they all have membership in some type of road service, with today’s drivers on cell phones and texting it’s too dangerous to be changing s tire on the side of the road with cars passing by a few feet or less away. Get road service to come do it, they have trucks with warning lights and better chance of other drivers seeing them. Your kids life is worth more than the time it takes to wait for help, or the small annual cost.

ETA: To the down voters, explain to my why it’s not a father’s job to teach their kid to change a tire.
Because a mother should also be able to teach the kid the same info.

I bet you $100 you couldn't figure out how to lower the spare on a Dodge Grand Caravan or Chrysler Town and Country without looking it up Youtube Skip to the part where you have to remove the center console
You can bet me any amount of money that you want. I am not going to leave my driveaway in a vehicle before I know such basic information about it. Basic shite.

Disclaimer- I was on a college campus and pulled over in a parking lot. I agree with calling roadside assistance if you are on a narrow interstate/freeway shoulder. In that case I would have just waited.
Also- the look of me hot and sweaty and having black tire marks on my clothes did get me a no charge tire repair lol! I only had it repaired because I knew it was almost time to replace all 4.

Nothing wrong with getting help in a bad situation. Most reasonable people will understand that.
OP saw a situation, that didn't look to him like a special need situation, that's why he posted about it.
He triggered some folks that can't do things for themselves, and like to make excuses.

My father never taught me which was embarrassing when I was 18 and had a flat. My girlfriend at the time had her dad come help and he chewed my arse out

Not even tied under the car? I'm not a car expect but I've never heard of a car without some slot or space for a spare except for a racecar.
Nope, BMW does not include spare tires with their vehicles post 2013 I think. Their reasoning is that with run flat tires, spares just take up space.

If it was a jeep, they likely had mechanical issues as well.
But not as many inbred issues Kentucky folk have.

Not just males. Every human being that drives should know how to change a flat tire.
I appreciate my dad for teaching me how to change a flat. It’s saved me many times.

My vehicle comes with roadside service. Why would I change a tire myself?
I would still do it because I don't like waiting for other people and I don't like other people screwing with my car. I don't need my pinch welds flattened or my lugs overtorqued.

She had a good Dad, did he take her home with him? If he let her stay with you, he liked you and saw some potential.

You should have stopped to help. Walk them through it so they don’t need help next time

I've had to change a tire on the emergency lane on I 85 just north of Atlanta.
The guys were on a decent, yet lightly used, road just off the interstate exit.
The flat tire was on the opposite side of the road.
It was a Jeep Cherokee type SUV. They had two doors open, front right, rear left, for some reason.

Do you believe that? Pretty sure that you don't.

Some of the post 2010 Camaros did not come with spare tires, you get a can of fix-a-flat and a small air compressor. There are aftermarket spare tire kits for the models that don’t have a spare.

Had no clue how to change a flat tire
This board is filled with like caliber waste of fricking human flesh.
God forbid we actually have bad times.
No electricity
No cell phones
No gas
They’ll be first to fold like a cheap tent.
