I don't understand it. It's an amazing product. Looks good. Hardly any maintenance. No painting costs. Some neighborhoods won't even allow it it now.

Hardi is overpriced dogshit. Still Have to paint it and most idiots do a bad job of install. They don't caulk enough of the joints.

Vinyl is incredible from a breathability standpoint.

used to hang vinyl siding in the summers in high school and in my first couple years of college. Made real good money for a teenager doing it and it was easy money. Cash of course so was even better. That is some cheap crap though would never want it on my house. I do have my pump house wrapped in it though bc I got a bunch of it free ha.

Anything can be installed incorrectly tard. Have you ever seen a poorly installed vinyl wrap?

Great product looks cheap.

It's been on my rental property for over 50 years and still looks brand new and bright white. I have hardi board on my house and it is definitely going to be more maintenance when it comes time for painting.

Our hail storms tear vinyl siding up out here in Colorado.

I think it depends.

If you take care of it it looks fine. But, it can easily look like shite if you don't wash it.

Also, in my opinion, I think vinyl siding does not look good on 2 story homes. I think with 1 story homes, you can make it work fine. But for some reason, seeing a windowless 2 story side of a house in vinyl siding just looks unattractive.

It's ok, i guess.

But then you end up with subdivisions of plastic.

In a few cities near me, they have laws where all newly built homes have to be 90% brick. Mayor said he doesn't want a plastic city, where every house looks the same.

We have a 100% brick home, would never go to plastic, unless i had 2(new home).

Looks good? Please. It looks like the cheap shite that it is.

Damn right they won’t allow it. Nice neighborhoods have standards.

I have a vinyl siding home. It isn't in a cookie cutter subdivision but in a regular neighborhood with homes that are a mix of brick, vinyl, and hardi.

I think that certainly helps make it not look as bad.

that is a fine siding and there are many solid options.

polymer lap siding is my personal favorite as it is golfball proof and doesn't require painting like hardi does.

I think it is OK when used in moderation. I'm not a big fan of wall to wall vinyl on the exterior of a house, but the boxing and a little section here or there isn't terrible.

Not a huge fan of white vinyl period, but some of the other colors arent bad.

I'd rather have vinyl than shitty synthetic stucco.
