The numbers your "Stats professor" are obviously manufactured numbers for demonstration purposes, not actual numbers OR percentages.

The actual percentage of HOSPITALIZED patients who are fully vaccinated is nearly 50%, according to the AP.

The problem with the messaging is this:

#1-Generally, people have a healthy and reasonable distrust of the government.
#2-Most people absolutely distrust the media in general. This phenomenon was initiated with the "global warming" scenarios, when it was widely and repeatedly reported that 99% of scientists agreed with the theory, when it was obvious and proven to be false.

This, with the vilification of anyone who disagreed with ALL vaccinations being necessary without question being labeled as "anti-vaxxers". The vast majority of those labeled as anti-vaxxers are not against vaccines, nor do they believe vaccines are ineffective. They understand the science of vaccines and they work.

These covid vaccines, no one can reasonably deny, were rushed to market without the thorough and long term testing we expect to be certain they are "safe" and have no long-term ill effects.

Absolutely, especially since most of the developed world is actively discussing making the shots mandatory or required for participating in society. Those opposed to the vaccine are up in arms because they see the potential future of being treated as an outcast at best and the scapegoat for variants at worst.

If you folded that on the lines you'd have a really cool paper airplane.

it tells me more about how many pussies live in this country. I've had covid, i definitely didn't go to the hospital. i took nyquil and slept a lot and was fine in a few days. People will go to the hospital over minor symptoms these days. it's ridiculous

Thought I heard that there was never a vaccine for a coronavirus until Covid-19, which really isn’t a vaccine to begin with.

Right so it was sold as 94% efficacy in preventing contracting the virus. It was unrealistic from the start and was never presented with the possibility of mutations in the virus which would reduce efficacy, which they knew the entire time would happen because it’s what viruses do. We have the flu annually with 190-200 million flu vaccinations every year and they still don’t get the flu vaccine anywhere near 94% effective by their own numbers.

Most big time vaxx zealots believed and acted as though it was the cure. Then just as ridiculously believed they still needed to wear a mask when told to by Fauci. Just as much as the vaxxers scream the anti-vaxxers ignore the CDC and science, the vaxxers ignore common sense, data, and political interference.

If 50% of the population is vaccinated, and 60% of the current COVID hospitalizations are in vaccinated people, then the claim that the vaccine is 95% affective against severe illness is complete BS. No matter how you try to spin the stats
