It’s just a total ignorant understanding of statistics.

This basic explanation by a stats professor is not rocket science

Yet there are anti vaccine posters on here with masters degrees not getting it, lol

Lol at you thinking that anyone dug into their anti vacc stance this far is gonna ever change their mind.

They will take any win they can get at this point no matter how much they have to spin statistics

What makes you think 95% of people are vaccinated?

Most of the people who are vaccinated are older; many of which live in group homes where even the common cold sweeps through the whole damn place.

I understand the statistics, but to be fair the media and many politicians acted as if you didn't get the vaccine you would die and if you did the pandemic would completely end.

Any one with common sense knows both of those are untrue. It's not really about the statistics, it's about the messaging

that scratch paper doesnt mean anything in regards to vaccines because well the numbers are just random numbers but thanks for the simple stats lesson

The larger problem is the vaccines were sold as a cure not a preventative from hospitalization. For months all we heard was hang on for us to get a vaccine. Then the efficacy was reported as efficacy of preventing contraction, not hospitalization.

95% aren’t vaccinated. But that’s just the number used in the example

There are also more than a thousand people in the world. The diagram isn't meant to represent an actual group of people, it's to demonstrate that comparing rate stats between samples of different sizes can create confusion (sometimes unintentionally, sometimes intentionally).

having had the virus has shown greater then vaccinated Efficacy rates, but we are classified in the non-vaccinated group.

That's fine, but sometimes absolute numbers are more important that a statistical average or percentage.

So if half the people in this country are vaccinated, and half the people that are hospitalized with Covid were vaccinated, what difference does it make if I got vaccinated or not?

When the FDA approves of the vaccine(s), will be interesting to see how the anti vaxxers spin it then.

Well maybe if you're going to try to educate us, use and educated example

quote:

As of 6 a.m. ET July 18, a total of 390,100,605 vaccine doses had been distributed in the U.S., and 337,740,358 had been administered, or 86.58 percent. Additionally, 186,038,501 people had received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 161,232,483 had been fully vaccinated. That means 56 percent of the U.S. population had received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 48.6 percent had been fully vaccinated.

You were right with the first sentence of your post, but you should have been talking about yourself instead of trying to attack people questioning the effectiveness of the vaccine.
